A Revolution Without Dancing

I'm officially a Californian now, and it feels pretty good. Everyone I've encountered here, from the store clerks to the neighbors have been rediculously nice. Upon passing someone on the street I am met with smiles and greetings. I no longer receive confused and angry glances. When I ask a question in a store, the clerks don't look at me like I've somehow ruined their day by making them do their job. The weather is beautiful, a consistent temperature between 70-78. The new house is wonderful, it's very spacious with brand new everything. I feel strangely isolated from my family in my room, it's sometimes depressing. At this very moment Deej is on my bed online and I am in my chair, we are together for no reason other than to be in each other's company. I miss all the good things and people of Fort Lauderdale but are ecstatic to be away from all of the bad. Some of which are trying to bring down this new experience for Deej, but no matter. They are 2,000 miles away from us giving a shit. I hope to see some familiar faces out here on the west coast in the not too distant future, but who knows.

I miss Jen and her family like crazy, they were absolutely amazing to me in the 2 weeks I stayed behind. Their hospitality and love made me feel right at home and I came to regard them as my second family. My infinite thanks to Deborah and Jeff Salmon for my acceptance into their home and lives.

Jen, stay strong for me. I miss you so much, you are my best friend and my perfect companion.

A lot awaits me here, a new city, but more importantly a new stage of my life. I greet it with both excitement and terror.

T minus 24 Hours until I become a resident of Californ-i-a. Any last minute _____ (fill in blank) needs to be accomplished in this time frame.

Congratulations to all of my fellow Class of 2006ers. I have always been somewhat estranged and disengaged from the group but last night I felt truly connected to my brethren in our accomplishment. It was an amazing experience. I've been waiting for what seemed like hundreds of years for that day and now in retrospect it seems like everything just flew by. I love all the people who made the experience what it was, good and bad. You, in part, have contributed to the person I am today.

Ok, enough sentimental dribble.

Last night was insane, the line of excess was significantly crossed. Thank you to everyone who made it possible: Andy Sheffield, Eric Sheffield, the man known only as J, Emerson (hence forth known only as Frank The Tank), Deanna, and all those assholes who wrote on me.

Anybody who wants to hang out needs to do so soon. My time is running low.

Deej and I have decided to go to California with the fam. Orlando just ultimately made no sense for us, it offered no specific benefit to either of our lives or careers other than being in Florida near our friends. We would of had to be completely on our own, juggling work and school, just inching by, growing up WAAYYYY too fast. Not to worry though my dearest comrades, I won't forget you with all of my new trendy L.A. friends. You will always have a brother on the west coast and I will visit Orlando to see everyone.

Five note-worthy updates in la vida de Scooter:

*Tonight I received an Honorable Mention in the category of Best Editorial Writer at this years Sun-Sentinel Journalism Awards.
*I've been accepted to UCF.
*The family is more than likely moving to California.
*RAD-Bash was a success, good times were had with some of my favorite people. (Emerson's absence was devastating, he was sorely missed)
*Jen is wonderful, but anybody who knows her already knows that. We are coming up on 11 months strong, and without a single fight or argument.

For those who didn't know, I went away....
...And now I'm back.

Spring Break has been fun. Good times with good company. It's almost over but, I am comforted by the fact that I only have a few more weeks of school left.

Many happenings to note. First, I've come to the major decision that I will be moving to Orlando with Deej. Second, I have completed my Bat suit and most of it made it's debut at the Saddie Hawkins dance (unfortunately the centerpiece, the Batman Begins Cowl mask, was against the dress code). I have no pictures of either at the moment, however, many were taken of me and my Batman themed compadres so some should surface eventually. Life is good, Jen is good, Mary J. is good.

This week was tough, Monday was Fernando's viewing. It was one of the hardest things I've ever had to witness. He was a wonderful person and he was honored and mourned as such.

Life is currently blah. I have taken such an indifferent attitude towards everything, I don't care about anything like I used to. It's depressing.

On a lighter note, new screenname: TheTotalitardian. To add me is to love me.

I found out today that Fernando of ICARUS' brother band Orijin died Monday morning as a result of a fatal car accident. I am outraged and depressed that such horrible things happen to such undeserving people. Fernando was one of the nicest, most good natured people I have ever shared a stage with. He will be missed.


On a lighter note, school is going quite well. Also, Jen is such an amazing companion and I love her. She is the ying to my yang,the Elvis to my Costello. I love you, my little Hippie.

I am going to start writing music again, I'm thinking Scooter goes acoustic.

Not much to report. Life is just flying by without purpose or accomplishment. Paris is coming, Phoenix (may) be coming, College is coming, real life is coming.

I have the flu. It sucks. I've lost nearly 20 pounds in a day. My fever last night was 102.9.

On the upside..
I'm feeling way better.
I'm going to Paris in March.
