The kitchen needs to be started by the new year, as I've already found a contractor willing to install the soapstone counters according to my schedule. The new cabinets are ordered, as are the appliances. They should be delivered within the week. Tiles and paint colors are still in question. But I think I'll start the demolition later tonight.

Destroying something might help with this disconcerted feeling of mine.

Oshitari

An excellent party, Oshitari. You're performance was quite impressive. My highest compliments, to that as well as the vintage of the wine you served.

Shiiba

Now that you're back from Paris and settled in, I was wondering if you'd help me with something.

Private

Delays, delays, delays. I'm getting restless to get back to work, though at least a new influx of samples should keep my occupied. I believe I've gotten the nutritional levels correct, however, that means nothing if the synthetic itself is still unstable. And I won't know it's stability until I've tested it further.

Though I suspect that this current distraction will at least prove useful in the short run of things. If Shiiba can't get hold of pre-constructed bullet proof vests, then I've already got a source of titanium in mind. So long as she can find me the Kevlar, all should be well.

I should probably plan for a handful of experiments. Silver bullets are sure to have their own unique traits, and perhaps a weakness that can be exploited. Ideally, I could use a corpse, but the decomposition would be a problem. Something longer lasting, I think. I'll look into it. Silver is easy enough to acquire, much as I'd rather not keep it in the lab. The ideal would finding the source for these prefabricated silver bullets Akutsu spoke of, but I doubt they'd willingly sell to a non-hunter, let alone a vampire.

I wonder if Akutsu would have kept the slugs used on him. Hm. I'll make a note to myself to ask him when he stops by with my samples.

Something else is bothering me, that I can't quite put a finger on.

I'm glad you went with the soapstone. I think it will really make the kitchen pop. You'll have to invite me over to see the finished product ;F

You seemed distracted at Oshitari's party. Something up?

It should work nicely with the woodtones of the cabinets. Though I'm still putting bamboo on the floor -- durable, cheaper than hardwood. The samples at the hardware store were quite nice.

Nothing important that I know of. Restless and wanting to get back to...work, I suppose.

Done properly bamboo shouldn't look that out of place. And god we both need lives if we're debating merits of soapstone and bamboo with each other.

Liar. And go back to work. I'll drag you out when I think you're getting too boring again.

Actually, it should look like hardwood. Hm...we do. I think I'm spending too much time in the hardware store.

Hardly. I'm afraid that my experiments are suspended until the hunter problem settles down, Ryou. I'm sure you weep because of it. Why is that not surprising?

If done properly. I still don't trust all humans with their trades. Great, what's my excuse? I'm gonna blame still not being recovered completely from being grounded.

Of course not. Hunter problem bothering you now? And you know I like seeing other people become victims of your drinks. Because I need someone to cause mischief with.

Which is why I will be handling the bulk of the installation myself. Hm...I think that excuse works just as well as others.

It's just a nagging feeling, Ryou. Myself, personally? No, though I'm not going to take the risk of testing my latest formula with Tezuka still demanding discretion. I know very well what happens when these tests fail.

Oh yes, I'm aware of this. Even I find it amusing.

Because you can't get into enough trouble on your own?

Good plan.

Sadaharu, you're worrying too much. It's distracting you from having fun, sex and me. I guess you would have both hunters and Tezuka on your case if your experiment failed again.

I know it's true, but still scary to read.

I need someone to take half the blame ;F

Thank you, Inui-san. Though I believe I saw you studying the label of the wine more than actually drinking it...was there something amiss, perhaps?

[info]_ulteriormotive

December 25 2005, 23:33:55 UTC 6 years ago

You don't need to address me as san, you know.

And no, it was nothing, Oshitari. The wine was an interesting vintage, is all. The flavor was quite unique.

December 25 2005, 23:37:40 UTC 6 years ago

I was merely being polite until told otherwise. Shall I simply call you Inui then? What would you prefer?

My sire dabbled in wine making...was there anything in particular you wish to know?

[info]_ulteriormotive

December 25 2005, 23:40:49 UTC 6 years ago

You needn't be. Inui is fine, Sadaharu if you like. Even Sada's fine, though most people don't call me that. I'm not picky.

I haven't done any wine-making for a good fifty years. Unless you're up to sharing recipes, nothing in particular.

[info]sceleratusquill

December 26 2005, 00:03:27 UTC 6 years ago

Thank you then...Sadaharu.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't know any of my sire's recipes. All I could tell you about them is that they typically required strange blends of grapes, currants and human blood. I wasn't allowed to watch her. What I served was the next to oldest batch I took with me...213 years aged.

[info]_ulteriormotive

December 26 2005, 00:19:37 UTC 6 years ago

Pity, that. I'm sure I could figure something out, though probably not duplicate the recipe exactly. But then, where's the fun in that.

If you ever feel like sharing any of the other, let me know.

[info]sceleratusquill

December 26 2005, 00:26:49 UTC 6 years ago

Perhaps. You were kind enough to bring wine when you visited me, of course.

ooc: though he'd probably bring the more recent wine with his own blood in it...

[Shiiba]

I doubt that it's anything too difficult for you, m'dear. I'm in need of...bullet-proof vests, types I to IV if possible, and also Kevlar fabric. Both are difficult of an 'ordinary' citizen to obtain.

[info]blood_beaute

December 28 2005, 09:11:52 UTC 6 years ago

[Inui]

Ah, not difficult at all~! Should I even ask why you need such items? :D

But yes, I'm sure that all are easy enough for me to obtain. Let me place a few calls then I'll get back to you with details, okay? <3

Re: [Inui]

Ask, and you shall receive, Shiiba. Our darling hunters are finally catching up with the twenty-first century. It seems one's modus operandum involves silver bullets and sniper techinques.

Excellent. You have my gratitude.
