So I've become re-obsessed with Facebook over the past few months.

I still read my Friends Page, but other than that, this old lady is pretty much abandoned.

If you want be Facebook BFF, let me know!

I'll be back when I inevitably get bored with FB again; and/or have something interesting to say.

I'm getting progressively more boring due to the breakneck pace at which I've been reading. Last week I read Revolutionary Road (which was heartbreaking and perfect) and Batman RIP by Grant Morrison (which was fucking BATMAN, therefore awesome) and Sing a Battle Song (which is a book of poems and song and communiques from the Weathermen/Weather Underground).

Up this week is Feminist Thinkers and the Demands of Femininity: the Lives and Work of Intellectual Women and The Bachmann Books.

My long-term reading assignment is Black Flame: the Revolutionary Class Politics of Anarchism and Syndicalism.

At least I've finally stopped letting my brain rot.

Speaking of Brain Rot, I was parked in front of the TV for hours on Sunday watching the Greatest 100 One Hit Wonders of the 80s, and as a result, I made myself a series of Epic 80s Mix CDs including such favorites as:
A Ha - Take on Me
Blondie - Call Me
Queen - Another One Bites the Dust
Prince - When Doves Cry
Michael Jackson - Thriller
Devo - Whip It
Dexy's Midnight Runners - Come On Eileen
Culture Club - Karma Chameleon
Gary Numan - Cars
Soft Cell - Tainted Love
Duran Duran - Hungry Like the Wolf
Eurythmics - Sweet Dreams
Falco - Rock Me Amadeus
Tears For Fears - Shout
Madness - Our House
Ray Parker Jr - Ghostbusters
Lipps Inc - Funkytown
Men Without Hats - Safety Dance
Wham! - Wake Me Up Before You Go Go
A Flock of Seagulls - I Ran
Herbie Hancock - Rockit
Nena - 99 Luftballoons
Prince - Let's Go Crazy
Bananarama - Venus

I said it was epic.

I am in love.

Oh, and if the Internets break down tomorrow, remember that I love you all, too, especially if you will get me drunk.

Behold! The most enlightening poll I've ever seen on LJ

And the Shamwow guy got arrested for beating up a hooker!

And apparently I got laid when I was blackout drunk last week!

And the show last night was pretty excellent.
-The opening band sucked (as is the tradition)
-Secret Chiefs were out of fucking hand.
-I don't care how Saul Williams was. I was too excited to know if he was any good or not. I loves him.
-Les Claypool was ridonk.

It would seem that epic tofu and epic Smash battles end in epic panic attacks if you're me.

Sometimes, I really fucking suck.

And my ribs really hurt.

I don't know what the fuck is going on, but my downs seem to be getting lower and my ups upper.

Maybe The Pill is fucking with me?

No idea.

Friday day: I get this insane bill for my pap smear for $50 and flip my shit about it. Like so angry I was almost crying about it because I have to pay $50 a month for The Pill already, and it's not like I went to the fucking gyno for fun. What the fuck does insurance pay for, anyway?! Fuck you, Aetna.

My insurance sucks.
I hate my job.
For some reason I keep dicking over my friends and they probably all hate me by now.
I hate living at home.
I need to get laid.
I need to paint something but I hate sitting down in front of that blank fucking canvass and not being able to figure anything out.

Yeah, yeah. Call the waaaaaaaaaaaaahmbulance.

Friday night: Went to Maria's birthday thing and had a great time. Mood swing much? I got nice and trashed and talked to Jay, who I haven't actually talked to since high school. Makes me wonder why I'm so bad at maintaining friendships. But I actually had fun.

Saturday: Feeling a little weird. Went to the bar with Damon and just ended up getting frustrated with everything I've been frustrated with for months now. I ended up feeling pretty good, though. Thanks Yuengling!

I'm pretty okay today.

My tongue hurts because I can't stop eating salt and vinegar chips, and I can't stop biting at the cut on my bottom lip, but work was uneventful and I bought Madworld, which is nothing but a fun ultraviolent gorefest.

I need to stop being such a pussy.

Watchmen was okay. Good; not great. They cut out a lot of stuff that was important and changed the ending; but there was giant blue dick, so I'd give it a B-.

Inventory was no more brutal than usual. Tomato pie was demolished.

Damon's turning out to be terrible for me because I indulge all of my most unhealthy habits with him, but he makes me want to be smarter, so really I think everything evens out.

Plus he's absurdly cute. Like, crazy cute. He just got a giant fucking tattoo of a vulture on his chest. I want to lick it.

The plan tomorrow is to cook something, play Braid, wash clothes, cut hairs, watch Lost, dye hairs. All while bra-less. Big plans.

Things I like right now:
-Tabasco sauce
-Books about math (right now I'm reading Zero: the Biography of a Dangerous Idea and it's fucking awesome)
-Buckwild from I Love Money 2 and her use of the word "bitchassness"
-Tiramisu flavored coffee creamer
-Tomahawk

Things I don't like right now:
-Bitchassness
-Borders
-Vicodin
-Clive Cussler's cover art. That shit is nast.
-Windows Media Player. I hates it still.

-Metalocalypse Season 2
-Saturday night's routine with Damon (Wawa, bar, riddles, 7-11, car fondling)

Things I don't like right now:
-cramps
-stuffing. It's just bread cubes, friends.
-my CD/DVD drive.
-Windows Media Player. Just because I inserted a CD does not give you permission to boot yourself up and start ripping it. Dick.
-SBC coffee. Why so bitter?

It bothers me that I let Kyle treat me like crap. He just isn't a good friend, and if he was female, I wouldn't take it. He ignores me for weeks at a time, and I get all irritated, and then he calls me out of the blue to do something and I always do it.

What the shit? Why do I take it from him but no one else?

Things I like right now:
-brown rice
-Printable Shrinky Dinks
-getting 32 cans of Coke Zero (I know they're evil; shut your whore mouth) for $7.99
-navy blue nail polish
-Lost

Things I don't like right now:
-Kyle
-the hair dye that stained my bathroom
-that nast film coffee leaves on your tongue
-KY Jelly
-the crazy fucking wind that's making my house rock back and forth

1. No progress on Epic Job Hunt 2k9. I'm looking into some government jobs. NATCA Todd thinks I should become an air traffic controller.
2. Someone is trying to burn down Coatesville. In fact, there are 1,013 articles about it if you check Google News. Weird.
3. Went to the hookah bar with Kyle on Saturday. Somehow, we ended up with 5 hookahs on the table by the end of the night. I don't know how. I vaguely remember the owner of the joint flirting with me, and my own shameless flirting with our waitress.
4. Whiskey was involved, and as always, I have a fist-shaped bruise on my arm.
5. Jason came over Wednesday and we made a veg burrito feast and watched Lost.
6. More Lost will be had tomorrow.
7. Maybe Ikea with Ashley, depending on the arrival of the Doomstorm (ie snow).
8. I'm anxiously awaiting a massive coal and shisha order. I ordered some cardamom, lemon, black grape (aka black currant), and Tangiers Mixed Fruit Summer Solstice.
9. My parents took out a life insurance policy on me. I'm not sure if I should be worried or not.
10. My cousin Cindy got engaged. Super weird.

So I have 3 days off this week and next week sos I can use up the rest of my vacation time. It. Is. Luxurious. I baked banana bread and played Super Paper Mario for the Wii all day.

Last Friday I went out with Damon (!!!!!!) to the casino, which we left, and then a shitty AMERICA FUCK YEAH! bar, which we also left, and finally went to a bowling alley to drink. He is too too cute.

Saturday I went to a hookah bar with Jason and Chris and drank whiskey and smoked hookah (lemon, mint, and cardamom inexplicably make a delicious combination) and ate stuffed grape leaves and baklava.

So while the job hunt is totally fruitless, at least I'm having fun.

I think I'm going back to the hookah bar with Kyle and Damon and some people Kyle knows on Saturday, but knowing Kyle it probably won't happen. There is a backup plan, though. There's this 8-bit music show happening in Philly on Saturday night that I really really really want to go to.

Jason found a place to live in Philly with some cats from Spiral Q, so he's moving in there tomorrow I think.

In other news, Borders kicked out the CEO and his top 3 croneys and hired some dude with actual book experience and promoted a bunch of people from within the company. We also got a huge shipment of stuff in the store the other day, and our stock got up to $.70 a share on Tuesday (it had been somewhere around $.35 on Friday) so this is making me cautiously optimistic, though there's apparently going to be another restructuring happening soon if the whispers in the boss's office and on The Internets (or [info]iworkatborders are to be believed, so maybe I'll end up getting demoted? I dunno. We'll see.

I feel my semi-annual meltdown coming on.

Twice a year, I become totally dissatisfied with every aspect of my life, bitch and moan about it, and then continue doing the same things.

Really the only thing that's killing me this time is my job.

I need a new one.

Not only because Borders is probably not going to survive the rest of the year; but because I need to get the fuck out of retail.

I worked my ass off with the union gig and it has amounted to nothing thus far.

I worked my ass off in college and got insanely good grades, and it was pointless, because I didn't suck up to the professors enough to get anything out of them, and my parents work blue collar jobs, so we have no connections whatsoever.

There just don't seem to be any jobs out there right now aside from becoming a "sandwich artisan" (Subway employee...no joke...this is the description on the Ursinus career page) or telemarketing.

I hate everything.

Except my Wii.
