IRON MAN
Oh dear Christ, if that wasn't the tastiest slice of cybernetic Superhero goodness that I've seen in a long time. Go see it.

And stay past the end credits for a scene which frankly? IS BETTER THAN THE WHOLE MOVIE BEFORE IT, if you're a Marvel fan ;-)

The film was very good, much better than I expected being a non-comic fan generally. One of the better comic-based films I've seen to be honest. Didn't quite get the excitement of the final after-credits scene but it made Tony whoop with joy twice so I assume it's good!

(sits crying in the corner)

I'd wanted to see the movie on Tuesday. (Actually, I wanted to see it today, but Tuesday was the earliest I could've managed.)

I got a phone call from a director today, about a translation, and now next week Thursday is the earliest I can manage to see it.

Fucking deadlines.

IT'S TWO HOURS.

WORK THEM LATER. SLEEP TWO HOURS LESS.

GO SEE THIS MOVIE.

Four hours, including the way to and from the cinema. Plus commercials.

I don't have any more hours left in the day to work even longer. And after three weeks of working late nights including weekends and holidays, not much more strength left to take any more sleep out of my day.

I'm pushing 50. I'm feeling my limits.

It's not going to leave the cinemas in a hurry so all you'll miss is the packed out cinema on the opening nights. Is this a bad thing ? Watching a film with an audience comprising one courting couple an old guy and a dog is not the same as watching a band with a similar sized audience.

That's my usual attitude too. But in my experience, if I don't see a movie in the first week, I might as well give up and wait for the DVD. Because then something else comes up, and something else comes up, and I push it back farther and farther...

Well true Doomsday is out next Friday, as in Escape from. Mad Max. 28 days later. Over Hadrians wall. But worth a look I reckon.

:)

Actually, I was thinking in terms of work and stuff interfering, not in terms of other movies.

By the way, what do you think about the Hulk trailers? Too much TV influence? Not enough?

Norton really seems to be channeling his inner Bixby all the way.

And the theme... the theme...

Gah! I totally left before the end of the credits, even though I KNEW I SHOULDN'T. My rationalization was that I could totally see whatever may or may not be there on the Internet later. I'm not a smart man.

I've heard nothing but good things about the movie. And I'm looking forward to the after credits scene.
