Bzzzzzzt.
The update of yesterday wil hopefuly come up later - but while I pass some time between meetings, let me tell you about this morning.

As known, last night I was alone, and checking out today so I could check back in with Sean Dulaney later today. Before I did this however, I plugged my laptop into the wall to do some scripting. However, the socket was loose and the moment I did? I was blown back by a shock that had me land on the bed, expletives galore.

I called guest services who of course apologised and sorted me out an early change to the room I was moving to.

Which was tiny, grotty and had no available wall sockets.

So, armed with righteousness and British indignance, I called them up again and, when nobody came up after 10 minutes, called again. The engineer arived and showed me that yes, there was an available wall socket - behind the big sideboard with the heavy TV set on it that couldn't be moved. I went once more to argue, this time at the main desk, talking to a manager, a lovely woman who not only realised that I was unhappy but that also thanks to the shock? I was a lawsuit waiting to happen.

And so I was upgraded. Our room now has a main greeting area and two side bedrooms. It's an executive suite and we get use of the business club on the third floor.

Rock and roll, baby. :)

Nice to know that the USian curse of litigiousness has its uses sometimes!

Outstanding use of British stiff-upper-lip there sir; get electrocuted and come back fighting strong - you're doing us proud over there :-)

You would imagine that at a comic convention, any electrical shock would instantly grant you super powers :(

I trust you're going to use this to your advantage by inviting people to your suite for meetings, so you can show off? It might do wonders for your income if people think they have to match what you're getting to afford such luxury...

Being Americans I would have expected them all to click about potential litigation straight away!

*wonders what wrongs you're going to right in the next installment* It's turning into a bit of a soap opera this, hehe :P
