The update of yesterday wil hopefuly come up later - but while I pass some time between meetings, let me tell you about this morning.
As known, last night I was alone, and checking out today so I could check back in with Sean Dulaney later today. Before I did this however, I plugged my laptop into the wall to do some scripting. However, the socket was loose and the moment I did? I was blown back by a shock that had me land on the bed, expletives galore.
I called guest services who of course apologised and sorted me out an early change to the room I was moving to.
Which was tiny, grotty and had no available wall sockets.
So, armed with righteousness and British indignance, I called them up again and, when nobody came up after 10 minutes, called again. The engineer arived and showed me that yes, there was an available wall socket - behind the big sideboard with the heavy TV set on it that couldn't be moved. I went once more to argue, this time at the main desk, talking to a manager, a lovely woman who not only realised that I was unhappy but that also thanks to the shock? I was a lawsuit waiting to happen.
And so I was upgraded. Our room now has a main greeting area and two side bedrooms. It's an executive suite and we get use of the business club on the third floor.
Rock and roll, baby. :)
