cinquain time!
Okay, so since two people responded to the post on my private journal and that's quite enough for me, I'm starting a cinquain thread. To refresh your memories, a cinquain is a five-line poem; the first line has two syllables, the second has four, the third has six, the fourth has eight, and the last has two again. Like so:
This is
a cinquain. It's
a way for geeks to play
a pseudo-intellectual
snob game.
The next person writes a cinquain using the last two syllables of the previous one as the first two of their cinquain. Here it would be "snob game," which really sucks for the next person.
Anyway, I figure the easiest way to do this is for me to write a cinquain and then the first person who comes along writes one using the last line of mine, and then the next person works on theirs, and so on. There's no particular order, just first come, first serve. So yeah. Have fun.
Here's the first cinquain:
New York,
oddly asleep
tonight, croons to itself
beneath the lonely comfort of
deep snow.
The next person's cinquain should begin with "deep snow" (which, incidentally, can be punctuated and capitalized however you want. For example, "Deep? SNOW!" would be fine. Weird, but fine).
Yay! *pops the champagne cork*
[ETA: I decided to make it general instead of fandom-related. Just 'cause.]
