    The Pilgrimage begins...
After much prayer and anguish I have decided to leave the Episcopal Church and become a Roman Catholic. I would like to stress that this has little to do with the current troubles within the ECUSA. Though I would not personally have voted to elevate Gene Robinson (the openly gay Bishop) to the Episcopate neither would I now refuse to accept Communion from him. Nor do I regard Anglican Orders as invalid. Instead I have come to realize that my differences with Roman Catholic doctrine are no longer significant enough to justify schism. In short, for me...the Reformation is over. I would like to (briefly) explain my reasons for accepting Roman Catholic doctrine in three major areas. I will put them behind an lj-cut for the benefit of any non-Christians who might read this as I realize that inter-family debates can seem rather esoteric (if not downright boring) to outsiders.

I have begun to visit various Catholic parishes in search of a new Church home and I would ask for all your prayers.
