SQUIRREL
Yesterday goldy_dollar and I saw "Up". It was very cute and I cried, which was probably a positive step towards convincing Frances I am not a Cylon. The talking dogs were the best part but I accept that because talking dogs are AWESOME. Whatever, princess movies, 101 Dalmatians ftw. I also took the last possible bus home and during it some creepy drunk old man came on to me. Hurrah! Unfortunately for him he will have to join the queue of creepy old men who want some of this.

I also stole from Frances "The Story of Martha" (self-explanatory) and "Winner Takes All" (Nine and Rose). It occurs to me that the Doctor Who books are kind of very hilarious but only a truly deranged branch of us are brave enough to read them, so I might do some summary/review things for lulz. And for people like lacunaz who want to see Gandhi in the TARDIS but not for the price of $14.50. Also, I just really really like summarising things. I don't know, I have strange passions.

I totally expect him to hover in the back of the church and then slink out right as the ceremony ends without saying goodbye. What a douche. LIRL

XD Totally. rynne's written a fic where Jack has to handcuff him to get him to go. XD

Totally. I shipped it, and in that sense I liked her enough, but I also liked Martha and Donna. It was only once everyone started ranting about she is a HORRIBLE PERSON and WHINY and A HUGE MARY-SUE (omg, rant for another day) that I suddenly felt like I wanted a giant I <3 ROSE banner that I could wave around frantically.

Falling in love with the lead male = MARY SUE OMG. DON'T QUESTION THIS, IT IS A RULE OF THE UNIVERSE. OR SOMETHING.

I thought Avril was the shit when I was 13 so not much judging here.

Heh, my sister wrote a Ron/Hermione filk to Sk8r Boi. TOP THAT. XD

I have a Davros playing card that came with my s4 boxset. I WANT MORE, IT IS HILARIOUS.

HEH. I have three playing card sets - one from s1, one from s2 and one from s3. I don't think there is a s4 one yet, but if I see one...

I DON'T EVEN PLAY CARDS. WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME?

I never wrote it but I had this fic planned once where they invent a fake alien invasion just to get him to show.

No I'm afraid this is false. It is not this act that is unforgivable, it is the act of MAKING THE MALE LEAD FALL IN LOVE WITH YOU. No one can survive that. It is the female character death sentence.

OMG AMAZING. DID RON BECOME A ROCKSTAR.

You may have a problem. To be fair, they don't sell Doctor Who merchandise here so I can't really compare. But I was never into the HP merchandise.

OH YES, HOW SILLY OF ME.

WE ALL KNOW HOW MUCH FANDOM LOVES FEMALE CHARACTERS, ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO GET TO BONE THE HERO.

YES. YES HE DID. I SOMETIMES MISS BEING AN EARLY TEEN, BECAUSE OF ALL THE LULZ IT BROUGHT.

MOSTLY I AM GLAD I AM NOT 14 ANY MORE.

My problem is my student loans and the fact that I can spend them on anything I want to! XD

And I've never been a merch person before DW. I suppose back when HP was my thing, I didn't really have much disposable income. And I've always been a fan of extra books - I have Quidditch through the Ages and Fantastic Beasts, and about six X files books. And I bought the Animatrix DVD. I just like having extra canon. But with DW, I find myself buying the toys as well! XD

I never wrote it because it meant scary things like having to write Jack, but I still love the image of him stepping out all frantic only to find a bunch of his friends in fancy dress.

OF COURSE. FANDOM'S FAVOURITE.

Man, I never even had the HP ones. Granted, yeah, I didn't have a lot of spendable cash. I dunno, I've never been much of an action figure person. I mean, as a kid yeah, but not since then.

BWAH. Jack is sometimes oddly difficult to write. I mean, you have to find innuendo in EVERYTHING, which is one thing, but if you want to give him any deeper characterisation you inevitably get reminded of JB's CRYING OF AWESOME (or at least, I do... XD) and can no longer take it seriously.

OF COURSE. FANDOM'S FAVOURITE.

I don't get it, really. I mean, say I wanted to shag Ten, self inserting myself as Rose is WAY EASIER than creating some other character. And Rose is more awesome than I am, so yeah... XD

I have no concept of saving money. Eventually I will go bankrupt.

I avoid Jack. I've written like two lines of Jack and they were awful and I have no desire to repeat that adventure. I'm not particularly fond of Jack, I don't really "get" Jack, and I just don't really want to write Jack. I dunno.

It doesn't make a lot of sense. I dunno. I'm pretty sure there's a lot of people who like Martha and Donna but wouldn't if the Doctor had wanted ot hit that. I mean, not to say that that's the only reason people like Martha and Donna, but in general I think that's part of it.

I am very, very cheap.

*Considers* In my published fic, I've had Jack... feature. And that's about it. I've had him play a bigger part in stuff I haven't published but mostly because he would be there, as opposed to because I particularly want to write Jack. Although before s4, my TARDIS OT3 of choice was the Doctor, Rose and Jack. But Torchwood made him a douche and then we got Donna, who is a zillion times more awesome.

There's a lot of hate from the Classic Who fans, who can't deal with the idea that the Doctor MIGHT ACTUALLY FANCY SOMEONE. BLESS THEM. They're like David Tennent. Except less endearing and more whiny.

And I'm cheap in some respects - I've been wearing flipflops tied together with elastic for months now. But I buy and hoard DW merch! XD

EDIT: In light of our previous conversation, my sister has just reminded me that as well as Weasley Boi, she also wrote one about the Longbottoms ('why do you have to go and keep getting me sedated?') and a Britney Spears song about Harry ('he's so plucky... got a scar'). Don't tell me: AWESOME. XD

I didn't care much for Jack and then he went on Torchwood an I stopped caring for him at all. Of the Team TARDISes we've actually witnessed I think I'm partial to Mickey, Ten and Rose, possibly just because Mickey and Ten crack me up. Hypothetically I think I'd like Donna/Martha/Ten or Donna/Rose/Ten, but we didn't really get to see iether of those in action since Martha was always busy being cloned/playing with Hath and JE was kind of ... everyone at once.

Yeah I see that around too. It cracks me up, I guess because i'd never been exposed to Classic Who in any form, so I didn't know this whole asexual madness until I started hearing it in fandom. What makes me laugh is that whatever the canon in that regard might have been that's clearly not what it is now.

LIRL FLIPFLOPS AND ELASTIC, EXCELLENT. I just tend to not buy anything at all until I direly need some.

SO AWESOME! Oh, songfic. I don't think I will ever stop laughing at "The Doctor and I".
