In between my exciting schedule of not-studying (OMG WHY AM I NOT DONE YET, DAMN YOU U OF O), sleeping for obscene amounts of time each day, eating my weight in sandwiches (dunno, I've had a bizarre number of sandwiches these last few days) and hanging out with Lisa and Tania for the first time in eons, I have been watching Flight of the Conchords, season 2.

WHY IS THIS SHOW SO AMAZING? Every time I see an episode I think I've found a new favourite song, and then I watch the next episode and I change my mind.

But I haven't seen the last episode yet, so



I rest my case.

Also, wild_sibyl/hysteriagalore, Bret has worn velvet suits/jackets at least twice this season.

HEE. Alas, no. Though in retrospect it does seem like it could be quite a common abbreviation.

I kind of wish, though, ducks might actually be cooler than my school's mascot.

Ha, that's okay. Nothing is cooler than my undergrad's mascot which was a beer stein. not even kidding. :-)

Wow that IS amazing.

We're Gee-Gees, and if you ask most people they will go "I think it's a horse". Technically it's the first horse out of the gate, but why they couldn't at least choose a cooler word like "stallion" or something is beyond me. Our rival school actually has a song that includes the line "what the fuck's a gee-gee?"

I love them as well. I saw season 1 a while ago but never got around to watching season 2 until the last couple of days, and it is amazing. And also increasing my love tenfold.

I don't have a FOTC icon. I may consider rectifying this.

Actually "stressed about exams" is not really a state I've ever been in. I am incredibly laid-back about these things, one day I am sure it will bite me in the ass.

But tomorrow probably won't be that day.

You could write my exam for me. Academic fraud is fun for everyone, and there's lots of LATIN so you'll feel right at home.

I THINK SO I got confused as to whether or not you meant morning or evening. Evening works better for me because tomorrow morning I plan to cram, as per usual. (Though despite what it looks like I actually have studied already today. AND YESTERDAY. This is very bizarre for me.)

After your exam? WE CAN GO CELEBRATE. And hopefully freak out more people with the combined force of our squee. I'm hoping we actually cause someone to go into shock.

Oh totally. But you had mentioned you had a meeting or whatever so I was like "...does she mean the MORNING?" and I was a little horrified as well.

YES. My exam officially runs from 2-5 but I doubt it'll take me three hours. Maybe 2? I dunno, I can just text you when I'm done I suppose.

Is there a Milestones downtown? Because if so, tomorrow they have some random promotion where if two people go for dinner you only pay for one meal. We can be a couple, I'm down with that.

On a completely different subject I've started compiling a list of how many hairstyles Zack Morris had during his years on Saved By the Bell. I'm going to make a pie chart.

THE EPISODE WHERE JEMAINE SLEEPS WITH THE AUSTRALIAN WAS A++. probably my favourite so far.

Flight of the Conchords = ♥ I love those boys - way to represent my homeland, guys :D Just when I think I can't love them enough, they win me over again and again. I recommend their 'mockumenary' that they did for NZ TV a few years ago pre-HBO series when they go to Texas to take part in a music festival: Flight of the Conchords - A Texan Odyssey. It is hilarious.

I uploaded it to conchords_hbo the other day - you have to join the community though, but definitely worth it in my opinion. I watched the first part on Youtube and was annoyed to notice that the other parts didn't exist!

You're welcome! I'm all about spreading the Conchord love at the moment! Plus it is nice to see the boys act relatively like themselves :) The scary fan lady with the lips was especially hilarious. I love how Bret shamelessly just loses it and Jemaine really just doesn't know how to react. ♥

Oh man you've gotta wonder about some people. For one thing I like to imagine that if by some bizarre twist of fate I did meet any celebrity I admired, I wouldn't automatically make them think of a restraining order. And then there's the issue of "even if you carry a picture of Jemaine's lips in your purse, WHY WOULD YOU SHOW JEMAINE?"

But it was still hilarious.

Haha, for definite. More like big giant neon signs pointing and saying "LOOK AT ME AND HOW CREEPY AND STALKER-LIKE I AM". I don't thinK I could ever do that. I've met a few famous people ("met" as in "hung around stage doors, etc") but I wouldn't be showing them pictures of themselves that I carry around (not that I do) or being there like... everyday or something. WHUT.

I really need to start watching flight of the conchords don't I? I'm really liking everything I've seen so far.

I'm pretty sure Bret was wearing velvet to be ironic, because both times were during music video scenes (during the actual show he always wears a sweater with an animal on it), BUT STILL.

Omg you have to watch it, it's so great. You can get season two from conchords_hbo, I just started downloading my favourites and they'r really high quality and stuff. You have to join the comm though.

You can also stream but it's harder.

Yes I am very eager for someone I know to watch this show with me. The only other person I knw well was my friend's boyfriend, but then they broke up.

This is probably true.

I haven't seen all of season 1 I don't think btu you don't really need to. Plus what I like about season 2 is they wrote the songs for the show, not the show for the songs.
