i swear i thought i had things to say
Sometimes I feel like I have things to talk about, but I'm trying to think of what they are right now and coming up blank. So let's just barrel through this:

  • I'm still unemployed and stuff. I'm obviously not going to find a job until the new year at this point, so... whatever I guess. No1curr about my quarterlife crisis, moving on.
  • There's some ship battle poll thing going on and the finals has Doctor/Rose against ~Klaine~. I don't think Doctor/Rose will win at this point but if you've ever wanted to vote against Glee in something (and I know you have) here is your opportunity.
  • BBC One is making "The Casual Vacancy" into a TV series! I am excited because I am part of the apparently small portion of the internet that liked Casual Vacancy. Plus with it being BBC there's bound to be SOME hilarious British Actor Bingo, amirite? I don't know what they mean by "series" -- I assume they mean miniseries, or like, 2 seasons with a total of 10 episodes max.
  • We're going to visit family for Christmas and it is a NIGHTMARE of organization. I think we finally sorted it out and it means I'll be home for my birthday, which is nice. Here's hoping I am less grumpy about it than I was on my last birthday.
  • If anyone out there is as bored and unfulfilled as I am, I recommend the Larry tag on Tumblr because ain't nothin' funnier than the perfect storm that is RPF tinhatters, tweens and Taylor Swift.

Here, look at the deformed chocolate my aunt gave me:

\o/ It's good to hear from you! I miss you posting on LJ regularly. I follow you on Tumblr but it's just not the same (and I seldom actually read anything on Tumblr b/c I find it impossible to keep track of or follow a conversation there so instead i mostly scroll past text and look at the pretty pictures.)

1. :( *Hugs* I hope things improve for you in the new year.
2. I have already voted
3. I have yet to read this book
4. Yay for sorted holiday plans!

That cake looks very odd but also delicious.

Part of it is that I'm spending more time on Tumblr, but it's also just that I don't have much to report these days because nothing's really happening in either my real life or my fandom(s). Tumblr sucks for keeping up with people though, IA.

1. Thanks! Are you still in London btw or are you back in Canada for the moment?

3. A lot of people didn't like it but I liked it a lot. It was a slow start and the cast of characters is quite large so it takes a while to wrap your head around, but I thought it was a good mix of ~srs issues~ and JKR humour. I'm interested to see how BBC adapts it.

LOL CAKE. Yeah it's supposed to be individual little balls of Aero chocolate ("bubbles"). Something.. went awry.

Everyone seems to be spending more time on tumblr than lj these days (myself included) and that makes me sad. I don't like change! Fair enough not having anything to report. The only reason I have posts on lj lately is because I've hoped on board OUAT fandom, and I'm doing drabbles for December. But beyond that there's nto much personal stuff to tell really.

1. LOL Interesting timing for this question. At this exact moment I am in London, but I fly back to Canada tomorrow with our good friends AirTransat! *sigh*. Really hoping I will get the visa in the new year and be able to come back for good.

3. It's on my list to read but I've just not gotten to it yet. I will read it eventually but I'm not in a rush.

LOL it is? Because uuuummmm that's not at all what it looks like.

LOLOLOL I just realised now that it's not actually supposed to be cake. Somehow my brain inserted "cake" into your original post for me. I guess that's what it looked like?

*dies laughing at self*

That chocolate is kind of disturbing......
Kali_thirty2flavors on December 6th, 2012 04:59 am (UTC)
lol it's not meant to be like that, it's meant to be a bunch of little balls of chocolate. It melted or something. I threw it out and sent a complaint lol

I just finished Casual Vacancy a few days ago. I liked it too. Cried at the end.

I didn't cry -- JKR still hasn't made me cry lol -- but it was sad. And made me want to go listen to Umbrella. I hope the series is good, it has the potential.

This is the first time JKR made me cry. It was probably a combination of factors, really -- a not-so-great day combined with the actual book, combined with me reaching the end at approximately 3am in the morning.

ETA: Though I'm at a loss to pick out the turning points in the plot, where they'd separate one episode from another. Because, well... there isn't much of a plot? I suppose the three instances The Ghost of Barry Fairbrother acted are mini-plots they could put in, but I can't think of anything else.
