lol ponds, i wanted more for you
We've known for a while that Chris Chibnall is writing an ep for s7 of Doctor Who, but at least the "no two-parters" rule meant that it'd be an individual episode. Right? So at least we would only be subjected to him once. SMALL MERCIES.

But apparently not, because he is writing both 7x02 and 7x04.

lol so this means the first half of s7, the Ponds' grand finale, is 40% Moffat and 40% Chibnall.

At least 7x03 is going to be written by our lord and saviour, Toby Whithouse.

TY for posting that image. Lol. It is what I wanted to post except Iam on my phone.

But yessss Toby Whithouse! I hope his episode lives up to my expectations.

Toby Whithouse has written consistently good episodes (and The God Complex was one of the few redeemable things about s6) so I do have my hopes up this time around.

OMGGGG JUST

S7.1 IS A SANDWICH MADE WITH THE BREAD OF NIGHTMARES

and Toby Whithouse's episode was heavily featured in the teaser and didn't look great BUT maybe he will surprise me. MAYBE THERE'S A REASON AMY WAS UNCHARACTERISTICALLY STUPID?

FILLED WITH THE LETTUCE OF DESPAIR

The teaser did not dazzle me either, but I'm going to hold out hope that the episode will be actually good and maybe Amy is like, drunk or something. I mean, it can't be any worse than Dreamland, right?
fauxkarenfauxkaren on April 5th, 2012 03:56 pm (UTC)
If I were on my computer, i would post the Hyperbole and a Half "this is the opposite oof what I wanted". But since I am on my phone, you're just going to have to imagine it.

Srsly though. What did I do to deserve this? I was a good girl this year, Santa!

omg ikr

I mean my expectations for s7 weren't high, but it's like they've actively gone out of their way to make it sound worse than I ever imagined

Lol yes Weeping Angels. Continued proof that Stephen Moffat has three (3) plotlines and he will use them all forever, screw all y'all.

I dunno, I just kind of have this odd hope/conspiracy theory that the BBC is trying to rack up a thorough list of Instances Of Terrible Writing so they can fire them both comprehensively.
Kali_thirty2flavors on April 5th, 2012 07:31 pm (UTC)
lmao that's the dream

As much as I loled at Chibnall's show Camelot collapsing, it seems to have freed him up to write lots more Doctor Who and I WANTED THE OPPOSITE OF THIS

I ASSUME AT THIS POINT SOMEONE IN THE BBC IS ACTIVELY TROLLING US, NGL. IT'S SORT OF HILARIOUS, BUT THE PONDS DESERVE SO MUCH BETTER (AND HAVE DONE SINCE... S5).

I will hold onto hope that Moffat will pull out something like Pandorica Opens/Big Bang for the Ponds. I mean... he wore them well at some point in the past?! And the flashbacks for them in Let's Kill Hitler were great even if the rest of the episode was.... not so great....

Chibnall though. I have nothing.
