SO Fandom March Madness starts on Monday. If you are unfamiliar,
f_march_madness is an annual popularity contest that pits fandom against fandom/character against character. And it is SRS GODDAMN BUSINESS.
Oh, FMM. I wish I knew how to quit you. But since I don't and come Monday I will inevitably be over-invested and obsessed, here is my post warning you of this impending occurrence.

So I think that is the basics. In every other category I can be swayed one way or the other, and I will be up for lots of vote trading and strategic voting once it gets going. As a Canadian, I warmly embrace strategic voting as a means of getting shit done.
I also have a filter I use for FMM posts, so if you want in on my rage-y gif-filled rants about why everyone's favourite character is shitty, I can add you to that. But I generally try to keep it a like-minded filter just 'cause there's no sense generating lasting resentment over FMM, so if you're like... Team Sherlock FTW, you probably shouldn't be on this filter. I might make more neutral campaign posts off filter but I usually try to cut those. IDK though, when the fever of competition is in my blood I cannot be held accountable for my actions.

Oh, FMM. I wish I knew how to quit you. But since I don't and come Monday I will inevitably be over-invested and obsessed, here is my post warning you of this impending occurrence.

- LESLIE KNOPE FOR THE WIN. I think she might have a shot and she's a candidate I support for the ultimate victory far more than any other. Plus she is IMO one of the best female characters on TV right now and definitely my person favourite. So KNOPE WE CAN 2012. Plus, Leslie has already given me a surplus of gifs to use during the competition.

- For both The Office and Community I am pretty lax. I'll be voting for Kelly in The Office bracket probs and I hope she wins, but I don't think she'll last that long so oh well. I will stan her every step of the way, though. And with Community I honestly think I could support anyone likely to win (not Chang or Pierce, but they're not going to win) so I don't really care and will support the candidate either way. Likewise with Game of Thrones I will just vote for Arya and be on my merry way, I don't care that much about that category.
- I am also Team Not Sherlock. I think he will win his bracket and I think the show itself will probably take Drama, and Drama is up against comedy every year which means he must be destroyed. Unless I guess he's up against like, Sheldon Cooper, in which case I will hope for a black hole to swallow them both.
- I am also Team Not Barney or Sheldon or Chandler. Barney and Sheldon because their shows infuriated me and I flounced spectacularly from both, and Chandler because... aren't we over Friends yet? I like Chandler but come on.
- And perhaps most importantly/the category most likely to get me into knock-down-drag-out fights with people I generally consider friends, the Doctor Who category. I am basically TEAM ANYONE BUT ELEVEN, but ideally I'd like to see Donna win because I think she's well-liked across fandom and would cause the least wank as a nominee. (I'd also love for Rose or Martha to take it, but I don't think they will.) Basically whether I stan for or against DW in this competition depends on who ends up getting the nom. If it's Rory or River I'll probably not care enough to stan either way. If it's Donna (or Ten or Amy/Martha/Rose, through some weird miracle of divine intervention) I will be stanning like I have never stanned before.
If it's Eleven I will do everything in my power to have him destroyed idc. This is in part bitterness because last FMM, when I really liked Eleven, I found so many of the people campaigning for him so obnoxious especially in the prelims, and partly because series 6 left me wiht a lasting resentment of Eleven anyway. I am REALLY HOPING that it is not Ten vs Eleven in the prelims again because I can't take that level of animosity again, especially now that I actively dislike Eleven, oh lawd please let this not be a thing that happens.
