WE FINISHED SURVIVORS.

FIRST LET ME COMPLAIN THAT THE DEMISE OF MEGAUPLOAD MADE THIS DIFFICULT, because as we discovered, the BBC-aired copies of this show and the Netflix copies are not the same. So while we've had a free trial of Netflix, I did not want to watch the Netflix copies any more than I wanted to watch the CBC version of Journey's End. SO EVERYONE ON MY FLIST WHO WATCHED ON NETFLIX: y'all missed out, jsyk. On some good stuff, frankly.

UGH SUCH A GOOD SHOW. I'm glad we spaced it out because we got so invested and stuff but now I am sad it is over :( BOOOO. Having said that, I was expecting a WAY worse cliffhanger and was pretty pleased with what we got instead. EVERYONE WAS HAPPY AND TOGETHER except for Tom. Which leads me to:

• TOM IS THE FUCKING WORST. God, we all hated him. Tom/Anya is the worst and Tom is the worst and I laughed at him being the only loose end. PERFECTLY OKAY WITH THAT, FRANKLY. He may have been useful as muscle but I couldn't stand him or how he treated Anya.
  
• ABBY/GREG OTP I AM PRESSED THEY NEVER KISSED AND INSTEAD WE GOT ALL THIS TOM/ANYA STUFF but whatever they can be Peter's new family.
  
• I totally forgot about Peter most of the time but I was pleasantly relieved that he ended the series with Abby. Yay!
  
• The scene where Abby and Tom are looking for him in the trailer park, though, was mega-frustrating. I didn't buy it. I didn't buy that Tom wouldn't have mentioned Abby in his yelling and I didn't buy that Abby would be so quiet. She should've/would've been SCREAMING Peter's name. But it was inconvenient to the plot that he hear her so she wasn't. Ugh.
  
• AL/SARAH OTP2. Ugh I started shipping it so hard so of course SHE DIES. Sarah's redemption arc >>>>>>>>>>>> Tom's redemption arc if it can even be called that. I think towards the end of s2 I was fonder of Sarah than Anya by a hair, because she had grown so much and Anya was stuck in this dumb ship with Tom. Fffffffff her and Al talking to each other across the yard and "thank you for making me glad to be alive" and bawwwwwwww. OTP. And then he hallucinated her while dying! Otp otp.
  
• Man Harriet Jones Samantha turned into a dick. I liked it, because it was interesting, but fuuuuuuuu.
  
• lol was the slave truck driver Barty Crouch Sr?
  
• Al and Naj were so cute.
  
• Abby was so Rose Tyleresque, our nickname was so accurate. Sometimes we'd be like GOD ROSE STOP ROSING because it'd be like, OH NO THE MAN WHO WAS GOING TO KILL ME TWO SECONDS AGO IS HURT I MUST HELP HIM lolol
  
• I love how much of this show seemed to involve kicking rapist ass lolllll. In 2x05 when everyone ran into those couple of guys trying to kidnap... whatever her name was, and they pulled out guns, we were all like "I ain't even bovvered, these punks are going down" AND AL AND SARAH SAVED THE DAY FROM THEIR SEX TRUCK YESsss.
  
• The political conspiracy aspect of the plot ended up being something I was less interested in. I'd forget about it when it wasn't up and front. I preferred the one-off adventures where the gang runs into random other survivors and stuff happens. So as always characters > plot for me.
  
• So because I like everyone but Tom, I was happy with the ending albeit sad that Sarah was dead. Al and Anya can heal each other's broken hearts and get together because THEY TOTALLY MADE OUT IN S1, SURPRISE, PEOPLE WHO WATCHED ON NETFLIX. IT HAPPENED. And then I guess a cure happens idk idk maybe they can just live on a farm forever. With their vaccine.

I'm sure I had more to say but that's all I got right now. SO BASICALLY FREE-FOR-ALL.



Similarly, in my quest to find a non-cut copy of this episode I ended up having to download some plug-ins to make the stream work ...and my browser started acting a bit suspicious. So I've uninstalled/disabled the plug-ins and I reinstalled/upgraded Firefox and it seems to be running normally again, but I'm still sort of vaguely suspicious. ClamXav says I'm good, but are there any Mac users with suggestions for other Malware-detecting-type programs I might want to use?
