I don't even watch the Office but I'll certainly turn on Hulu to support my Ginger Queen.

I planned to give it up after Steve Carrell left, since I should've given it up years ago. But then they were all O-HO BUT CATHERINE TATE HAS A CAMEO IN THE FINALE 3 EPISODES FROM NOW! and I was like "okay I will watch for her BUT THEN I'M DONE". And I have not watched this season at all. BUT NOW.

That's totally fair ... although, I think that they want us to feel that way about his character. I think he's a total weirdo, but I still kind of love him (Have you ever seen White Palace? That film makes me forget how much I hated him in Pretty in Pink, Sex, Lies and Videotape and basically every other role he's ever played, lol). I think his energy with CT could be EPIC in a really, really wacky way. I guess we'll see ...

The Office was really great for seveeral seasons. It's gotten weaker as it got older, like most tv shows do, but CATHERINE TATE.

Hmmm well that's decent anyway. WTG Catherine, breaking into the US market so well. Even better than DT I'd say... (leather pants not withstanding)

I've heard great things from many people about the Office over the years. It's one that I've kinda always thought I'd watch one day but never gave it much priority. How much would I spoil myself if I just watched Catherine's eps for now and went back later to watch from the beginning?

That's a good question. Hmm. I mean, The Office isn't really a show with a general plot. What served as plot in the first three seasons has been resolved since ...the first three seasons. But the first few seasons are the show's strongest and that's where you're likely to form an attachment to the characters. The character dynamics and quirks and stuff probably make the most sense if you watch from the start. But it is an American show with 8 seasons now, so.

LMAO OMG! *snorts* It totally does!!!!! What do you want to bet this arrangement was actually made way back when and they were like "Okay so when is the play with the skinny man over?" and then they basically flew her to the US to start filming sometime in September. THIS WOULD NOT SURPRISE ME!!!

Well I already know that Jim and Pam get married which I think is mostly the plot for the first few seasons right? so I feel like it's probably fine? I'm impatient to see Catherine. I'm not sure I have the patience to go through 8 seasons first with Nano just around the corner. I really might just jump in. Should I start with last season's finale do you think?

Back when they were still casting for the new boss there were lots of rumours that they wanted Catherine Tate but she was busy. I took it with a grain of salt, but since they a) gave an in for her character to come back even if she wasn't hired, and b) are clearly exploiting that and are saying WE KNEW SHE HAD TO BE PART OF THE SHOW SOMEHOW it sounds like that was probably the case.

Yeah, Jim/Pam is the main plot for the first three or four seasons. Their getting-together arc is easily the best written on the show. You could probably start with the finale and go from there. I's the first time we meet her character.

THIS IS VERY EXCITING. I flounced from the Office just after Jim & Pam got together, but I will totally come back for this.

I stopped watching after the finale of last season. I planned to quit with Michael, but then they had Catherine Tate in the finale, so I kept watching and gave up this season. BUT NOW THEY ARE BRINGING HER BACK so I'll have to catch up again.

I've found this season to be a mix of really good eps and total flops. I really enjoyed last week's garden party episode, but the week before that sucked. It's been pretty hit-or-miss.

But seriously, she's coming back? Is it permanent? :D

The article says she's returning around February for a "major arc". I don't know if that means she'll be in every episode, but she'll be in more than one! Which is awesome. ILU Catherine.
