That's how I approach it as well. I use OTP quite sparingly. I have shows that I know a pair of characters are amazing together, but they are not quite OTP level for me. So then when I have something that is OTP-level for me, like in Doctor Who, it's doubtful the show is going to have two couples that inspire me to the same lengths as my first OTP in the fandom.
