J K ROWLING TALKED TO ME ABOUT SORTING AND EVERYTHING :'D
ATTN: EVERYONE

I WAS FINALLY SORTED ON POTTERMORE

HUFFLEPUFF LIKE A BOSS

This is probably the House I would've put myself in if I had to put myself anywhere, so I'm neither surprised nor displeased. PLUS I AM IN GOOD COMPANY, WITH bazcat89, shinyopals, and spud14, as well as:

Don't front, you know it to be true.

Anyway Pottermore is basically what I did tonight. I eventually stopped at chapter 18 or something, just after we got rid of Norbert. I think the funniest part of it all for me is that I'm going around pickpocketting Hermione and shit.

DONNA AND RORY ARE HUFFLEPUFFS. DONNA'S HEART AND SENSE OF JUSTICE ARE HER DEFINING CHARACTERISTICS. RORY'S LOYALTY TO AMY IS HIS DEFINING CHARACTERISTIC.

MARTHA JONES IS A RAVENCLAW DUE TO BEING WHIP SMART AND ALSO SOMETHING OF A NERD, JUDGING BY MED SCHOOL AND THE ABILITY TO BUST OUT 'EXPELLIARMUS' IN LIFE-OR-DEATH SITUATIONS. HER BRAINS ARE HER BIGGEST ASSET.

ROSE TYLER IS A GRYFFINDOR BECAUSE WEREWOLVES ARE EXCITING

AMY POND IS A GRYFFINDOR BECAUSE VAMPIRES ARE EXCITING

RIVER SONG IS A SLYTHERIN BECAUSE DESTROYING THE UNIVERSE TO KEEP A DUDE YOU SEE ONCE A YEAR ALIVE IS TOTALLY LOGICAL RIGHT

THE DOCTOR IS COMPLICATED IDC

JACK I WOULD ARGUE IS A SLYTHERIN (HE WAS A CON MAN! WHY DOES EVERYONE FORGET THIS?!) BUT I COULD SEE GRYFFINDOR AS WELL. ONE OF THE STUPID ONES.

THE DOCTOR I CAN GO BACK AND FORTH ON DEPENDING ON REGENERATION AND SO ON BUT I CAN SEE TEN AS A RAVENCLAW PROBABLY PRIMARILY.

I sorted Jack into Slytherin in a fic once! :D But I made Donna a Gryffindor (fiery, brave redhead!) and Rose a Hufflepuff (so devoted to the Doctor that she'll break down barriers between realities), so I guess we disagree on that. :P

(I ALSO MADE SARAH JANE THE HEAD OF SLYTHERIN HOUSE BECAUSE LOL.)

Hmmmm. It's not that I don't think Donna is brave, but of the New Who companions, apart from maybe Rory, I think she's sort of the... she's not a coward, but she's the least eager to put herself in dangerous situations. She needs more coaxing into it and would be way happier staying at a spa than going on a bus tour. The danger is a large part of why she turns down the Doctor's offer in TRB. Rose, on the other hand, is something of an adrenaline junkie who laughs at the idea of leaving at the first sign of danger. Rose and Amy to me are quintessential Gryffindors, whereas Martha and Donna are a bit more ambiguous (but ultimately I think they're Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff).

Do you ever stop and wonder why we think about this so much? :P

I totally see what you mean with Donna, and while she may not be as willing as some to throw herself into dangerous situations, she still does that all the time. And when she believes in something, she is fiery and determined and, IMO, good Gryffindor material.

I think Rose is ambiguous. She does laugh in the face of danger, but I think her devotion to the Doctor is a more defining feature IMO.

Amy wasn't involved in my sorting process, because it was all Ten and his companions, but I would probably put her in Gryffindor, too. And I don't think I saw Martha as ambiguous - she was a definite Ravenclaw, in my opinion. :)
