Martha Jones Appreciation Week, Day 2: Martha's Theme  
I have lots more Martha meta in me, but I haven't actually sat down to write any of it yet, BUT I don't want to go another day without posting anything, soooo let's talk about the awesome that is Martha's Theme!:



I love all the companion themes and a lot of Murray Gold's work, but I decided recently that Martha's is probably my favourite. I'm not quite sure why, except that I think something about it is just so Martha -- it's sort of hauntingly beautiful, and quite sad, but also quietly strong. I dunno, listening to it just gives me All The Feelings about Martha and series 3 in general. Click play! You know you wanna!

I AGREE.

lol I really want to do a day that is just like LOOK HOW GORGEOUS FREEMA IS. It seems like a bit of a disservice to Martha since she has plenty of other fine qualities, but... Freema IS gorgeous.

I agree, her theme is so awesome!

I promise you will have a kickass Martha gif by tomorrow evening. VLC keeps crashing and acting up.

Oooh I love this theme as well, it's definitely my favorite companion theme! (I mean, I like the ending of Rose's theme when the beat picks up and it's when Rose is like, "Yeah, see ya!" in EoT, but as a whole not as much...). After "Doomsday" it was the first individual theme/recurring piece of music I really took note of and loved. And it does really fit her...

I like Rose's Theme a lot as well but it seems really sad and I don't think sadness fits so well with Rose in general? It's really pretty but IDK I don't think it encompasses Rose Tyler the way I think Martha's theme encompasses Martha Jones. And Donna's Theme was appropriate for Runaway Bride but a bit too light and bouncy and silly for Donna in s4, and Amy's Theme... I like Little Amy and Amy On the TARDIS more than I like Amy's Theme itself.

But I just think Martha's is so great.

I adore this piece of music. It's beautiful and haunting and hopeful and sad all at the same time. There's just something about this piece that is pure magic. I like too that it's a bit more fantastical than either Rose or Donna's themes (although I love both of those also), it just suits Martha. In an EPIC way.
