on day 09, rtd punches me in the grief bone
I. I suspect most of you who care have heard by now, but dwrewatch will be doing a rewatch of s1 through to s5, and starts on Saturday with "Rose". It's two episodes a week (Saturdays and Wednesdays) and should take us up to around the beginning of s6. More details at the comm, obvs.

II. I experienced my first nosebleed in the middle of class today. That was... interesting. It has never happened to me before, so I had to remember what the poor bastards who used to get them constantly in elementary school would do. Nothing like ridin' the bus home with a tissue pressed to your nose and blood on your shirt. Classy~

This was all after very nearly getting on the bus to go to class without bringing my notebook or.... bag... or even any pens. So presumably the nosebleed was a result of my brain melting.

III. Day 09 – A Who-Related Photo That Makes You Angry/Sad

lololol the RTD years gave us like nine zillion sad shots, but let's go with...

The last five-ish minutes of JE are all pretty brutal but this part is the worst for me. This scene makes me sadder than Keanu. Every time I rewatch JE and Donna's all, "see ya!" and Ten goes off to go crazy and die alone, I am just like

EMO SMITH YOU FEEL MY PAIN

Orly! lolol I kept waffling between the head-tipped-back and head-tipped-forward. I remember everyone tipping their head back in elementary school, but yeah, I did it and I could feel the blood going down my throat and would go "AUGH WTF THAT IS DISGUSTING" and then pitch my head forward again. lirllll I will keep this in mind though. I have a cold right now so I'm blowing my nose a lot and am not confident that it won't spontaneously start bleeding again.

EMO SMITH MAKES EVERYTHING BETTER. I HOPE YOU FEEL BETTER TOO.

Yeah, most people's first instinct is to tip their head back because it will stop the blood from coming out their nose, but then you just swallow it. :( If you keep having nosebleeds try the icepack (some ice wrapped in a towel). I'm full of random first aid knowledge, yes.

lolol emo John Smith is my favourite, I love those episodes.

I shall treasure this knowledge! And now that I am home I will actually have access to an ice pack if it happens.

Omg lol that icon. I read that comic the other day and it was like the best summary of this generation ever.

Also I was going to tell you not to tilt your head back in case you choked but I see another lifeguard got there first so FINE.

I fucking love that blog. And it is SO ACCURATE.

I have so many lifeguard friends. WHERE WERE YOU ALL WHEN MY NOSE WAS BLEEDING FIVE HOURS AGO, EH?

LOL I am sure "DON'T TILT YOUR HEAD BACK" and "BLEED INTO A TISSUE" is expert advice that you could not have survived without.

It's sort of hilarious how confused I was by the whole situation ngl. When I first noticed I was bleeding I just sort of sat there going "................" for a moment before deciding I should probably go to the washroom to deal with it, and then when I got there I spent a while alternating between tipping my head back, checking to see if I was still bleeding and then bleeding on myself in the process. And then it was like "class is almost over, should I go home? But then I'll just be bleeding all over myself on the bus. Is there blood on my shirt? There is definitely blood on my shirt. That's nice."

lirl and there were these two girls standing in the bathroom gossiping the whole time I was just like, flailing around getting blood on things. They did not seem very bothered but I thought it was kind of funny.

Awww that does sound traumatic. DD: WTF happened. Did it just do so.... apropos of nothing?
Kali: dw :: ten/rose :: domestics_thirty2flavors on July 16th, 2010 05:05 am (UTC)
It wasn't traumatic as much as it was "I AM ILL-SUITED TO DEAL WITH THIS SITUATION!" And then I was wondering if between that and the missing-the-bus-by-failing-to-bring-my-books there was some sort of divine intervention trying to prevent me from attending this class, lirl.

lol pretty much! I mean I have a runny nose because of the cold, so I thought it was just... the cold... but while I was fumbling around for a kleenex some blood dropped onto my hand and I was like "...........what." I felt bad for bleeding on the floor. LIRL

Did you miss both your classes or only the one you dislike?

Yeah, that would be awkward. Did you have to like.... give an explanation for why you were leaving class or was it pretty obvious?

I skipped the boring one today because I didn't feel like being at school for nine hours while feeling sick and stuffy when we all know I spend the whole lecture on lj anyway. But my witchcraft prof doesn't post any notes online and I don't know anyone in that class/no one is allowed to use laptops anyway so borrowing notes is awkward and I figured I'd better go.

I am not sure if it was obvious when I left but when I cam eback I was just sitting there with tissue shoved at my face so she might've noticed. IDK I don't think she cares much either way, there're like 200 people there.
