generative grammar can go to hell
AHAHA so that was like the worst midterm I've ever written. I even felt the need to text lacunaz about it because I feel like, as a linguistics student, she might understand. Possibly she looked at her phone and went "who the hell?" but... worth it. I'm trying to counteract the fail right now by doing the phonology assignment I have due Thursday, and let's be honest, I am rocking it. I'm even kind of having fun. Apparently I really enjoy the brain-teaser aspect of working out morphological/phonological rules and patterns in a data set. It reminds me of those "MARY IS TALLER THAN JOHN BUT SHORTER THAN PETER" things you used to have to do in like middleschool. I always liked those.

Also, it was warm enough today that I walked home from the bus stop -- which is like a 10, 15 minute walk -- without a coat. IN NOVEMBER. This may never happen again so I feel the need to document it.

Ummm that was all quite boring, so here is a relatively boring meme!

Post a list of 10 television shows you watch or have watched. Have your friends list guess your favourite character from each show. When someone guesses your favourite character, bold the title. When guessed, tell us why you like that character. I should maybe note that no one is doing the "tell us why you like them" thing so I reserve the right not to. Also, for most of these picking a favourite involved thinking really hard.

1. Arrested Development -- Buster, as guessed by rose_dawson
2. The Office - Kelly Kapoor, as guessed by bazcat89
3. Scrubs -- Turk, as guessed by lacunaz
4. How I Met Your Mother -- MARSHALL, as guessed by noblealice
5. Doctor Who -- evidently I can't pick between two, so bazcat89 & rattus_aerius get a point for Cloen and I'm going to say there's a second acceptable answer as well and noblealice gets a point for Donna Noble
6. Summer Heights High -- Ja'mie King, as guessed by bazcat89
7. The Big Bang Theory -- Raj, guessed by erethesunrises
8. Torchwood -- Toshiko Sato, as guessed by bazcat89

That is all. I don't watch enough tv.

ALSO, OH MY GOD:

I said before it looked like Sims. I lied. The Sims has better graphics. Shit, it makes The Infinite Quest look like an animated masterpiece.

To be honest I couldn't make it past the first three minutes of that D: I still have no idea what it's actually about.

Ah I don't think I've ever been more attached to a character that's gotten like... less than 30 minutes of actual airtime :D

It's weird. Eventually Martha and Ten go on a quest to find The Infinite (NO RLY, I know), which is some thing that... shows your heart's desire. Basically it is the Mirror of Erised. Except in 3-D. I think they want to destroy it or something? Because like the Mirror of Erised it can be USED FOR EVIL? I dont' remember. But Martha's ~heart's desire~ is the Doctor and the Doctor's is OH WAIT they don't show you because that would be too interesting.

I usually go for the minor characters!

uh. LMAO. His heart's desire is probably him playing catch with K9 on a field on Gallifrey. There must be a reason why he's so excited every time he sees that Tin Dog.
