Chapter 6: The Un-timely demise of Basil the Trinket Bear
Tread lightly, he is near
under the snow
Speak gently, he can hear
the daisies grow
All his bright golden fur
tarnished with rust
He that was young and fair
fallen to dust
Lily-like, white as snow
he hardly knew
he was bear, so
sweetly he grew
Coffin board, heavy stone
lie on his breast
we vex our hearts alone
he is at rest
Peace, peace he cannot hear
lyre or sonnet
All his life is buried here
heap rocks upon it
