Last night was a lot fun. Today's going to be such a bitch. haha

It was fun seeing the 4A boys again. It's been awhile. A bit over two years actually.

Greg celebrated his early birthday party last night at his place so that Joel could also make it his despedida. For some reason, I remember Grey saying the party was at 6, so I made a conscious effort to arrive an hour and a half late. I got there at 7:30, only to find out that the party was supposed to start at 8. So much fail for me. haha. Even when I try to be late, I can't.

Thank jeebus that Greg's friends Cym and Iana (not sure if I spelled that right, haha) are punctual too. New drinks mobile in town, peeps. (m)PULSE. Cym's handling it, check out her multiply at mpulse.multiply.com. Pretty good deals and the parties she's handled all look pretty crazy by the time she's done.

Dre and Mama are in Ateneo for Law *coughcoughtheotherschoolcoughcough* and the one major sentiment we had in common that night was that while under Greg's roof, with the music playing and the drinks just coming, was that we didn't care. And yeah, it's so much fun to just forget the whole goddamn worload sometimes (even though it comes biting me in the back in the morning like today).

Finally heard Greg and Dre DJ. I prefer Dre's sound for parties but if you're after 70s, 80s and 90s stuff, Greg's your man.

Joel passed out drunk on the floor outside. Honestly, I thought that he was probably just asleep but when Jau and their friends applied the "wang test" Joel failed miserably. Final verdict: dead drunk.

Speaking of Joel, this certain Mr. Sy kind of failed to tell me that he's been dating Bia Catbagan for the last month and that they're actually together. It's a super small world. Imagine my surprise when Joel arrives and most of us are focused on this motherbugger who I haven't seen in the last two years and who's leaving on Tuesday when the one standing beside me calls his attention. Hello, Bia!XP Haha.

Springboard from Joel, the "Quadrangle Crew" finally got together again after so long. And it just came to mind that I didn't get that picture with both of you, Merc, Joel! Mehn, guess it's going to have to wait another year. haha. Merc, I missed you loads. Your boi Raf seems like a nice guy, your friend Tanya's really interesting, and your friend Tanya's guy (whose name I forgot right now) seems cool too. Another small world moment, Tanya's guy's from LaSalle Bacolod and friend with Kevin. haha. Bacolod represent!

As the night went on, the world got even smaller really. So I'm talking to this girl named Anna only to find out that she's Sir Canlas' daughter. Even funnier, she's Paderanga's godchild. And even she knows all the stories about Sir Pads. haha. Benta. Plus, she and a bunch of other friends they introduced to me or who introduced themselves to me turned out to be JMA invisimembers. See you all at Bia's Adhoc! Nice meeting you, Anna, and your sister too. Dani, don't go asking about me na. hahaha.

Ended the evening with bro talks with Jau who, thankfully, was able to make it back from Baguio with enough time and energy to still come to Greg's party.

So much happened really from 6pm-3am last night. Totally sober, don't worry, but things were just happening so fast when the night picked up. I really wish that everyday could just be like that. I guess that's why I'm working on Law. Hey, I might be 4 years too late to be earning for all the parties people will be having these next 4 years, but don't think I'll miss them and just wait for when I graduate and make my first million. haha.

Still, it was a really funny epiphany last night:
Whenever we're studying (for Law specifically) all we ever want to do is party. But when we're at a party all we ever want to do is study for Law.XP

Don't get me wrong, I've always been a nerd, but this level of studying that I've been doing for the past 2 and a half months is totally off the scale from the "studying" (quotes on purpose) I used to do. haha.

Developing on that epiphany, truth is, I don't see myself ever living the life of a diletantte. I don't think I'd be able to survive with parties all night. I'd go crazy. I want something more in life. I want to change the world, or at least just my world. Do something new everyday, meet new people every other hour. Guess that's another reason why I'm in Law.

Ohwell, time for breakfast, a shower, and another battle with a 4-inch pile of readings.

Peace, all

I've got Persons and Consti to work on (no problem. hahaha) but I just felt like posting.

I missed the MJ memorial but I'll find time to watch it on youtube when I've gotten my things for this week out of the way.

Also, I went and searched up the People v. Jackson case like I promised myself I'd do and as expected I have no shame in sharing it all with you. I still want a non-wiki copy though. We all know the stigma people have for wikipedia.

I haven't read through the whole thing cause as I said earlier that I've got tons of readings to do. But a quick browsing left me with two highlights I'd like to bring up.

Prosecution witnesses' credibility
There is question not only of the credibility of the main accuser, the mother, but also of the many witnesses called to testify in the trial. Prosecution witness Chris Carter, who had been Jackson's bodyguard from August 2002 – August 2003, was arrested in Las Vegas on February 19, 2005 after police searched his mother's house and found a handgun, and had been accused of robbing a Radio Shack in October 2003, Subway sandwich shop in August 2004, a KB Toy Store in January 2005, and a Jack in the Box restaurant in February 2005.

Another witness, a former maid in Neverland, was convicted for stealing a sketch of Elvis Presley made by Jackson. A housekeeper whose son claims he was molested once sold stories about Jackson to Hard Copy, and a chef was found to be the host of a porn site called Virtual Sin.[28]

and

Verdict
At approximately 2:25pm PDT (21:25 UTC) on June 13, 2005 the jury of the Superior Court of the State of California, held in and for the County of Santa Barbara, determined that Michael Jackson was not guilty on any of the charges he had been accused with. The not guilty verdicts on all ten charges, including four lesser substitute charges, were read aloud by court clerk Lorna Frye. [32] The investigation and trial lasted for 574 days.

And no, this case did not end in a settlement. You're all thinking of another case that's quite questionable as well and I think it was a mistake for MJ and his lawyers to take the action that they did.

Some people just have to admit that they were just all bandwagoneers who never took the time to really study the matter. They just took what the anti-Jackson media threw at them and picked up pitch forks and torches. People should be ashamed.

Prosecution in these cases were the circus if you read through it. They just used it to get media hype and to extort money from Jackson. This too was a point brought up by Jackson's lawyers. Ctrl+f "extort" if you're still not convince and read the comic trial answers the Arvizo family wife would give out.

People should take the time to read the testimonies from people who did sleep in Michael's house and bed on numerous occasions and never brought up any molestation charges, calmly denouncing them while limelight hungry prosecutors and complainants went on tirades for the hungry anti-MJ biased media. Their parents would testify against the prosecutors and their claims even when they had nothing to gain.

Like Reverend Al Sharpton said to MJ's kids:
"Wasn't nothing strange about your daddy. It was strange what your daddy had to deal with. But he dealt with it."

RIP, MJ. You're still a hero to me and so many other people in the world. We all know that they tried to hurt you but that Peter Pan would always just throw a dashing smile in the face of danger.

What a thing to wake up to this morning.:(

I just wish that I didn't have to study so that I could write something for Michael.

I still don't believe it, you know? All the bullshit and controversy. One of these days I'm going to look up the annotations of his court cases and I'm going to analyze them like hell.

And even now, knowing what I do know, I still don't believe it. I've always felt he was victimized by the media and money-hungry people.

Some people will only remember him for this controversy. But most people will never forget that

Michael was a hero.
He helped skyrocket MTV
He broke black and white boundaries
He called people to heal the world and make it a better place

R.I.P. Michael.

In my mind you're the real "boy who lived"

1) I've wanted this since I was Grade 3
2) It was apparently my great grandfather's dream for my grandmother (dad's side) to become a lawyer. She never got to. She supported 11 children as a teacher.:)
3) I'd be the first lawyer in the family. Nathan Pico, Esq.
4) I don't see myself doing anything else with my life
5) There's no greater job (other than be a doctor). Just like Sir Roque said, if you aren't a lawyer or a doctor, you fulfill the rest of your life either making calls or selling things.
6) It's a stepping stone toward what will be the luxury of time and money. Can't do anything you want if you don't have time and money.
7) It's setting up the support for the family I want to have
8) The training of lawyers is evident in how they speak and argue. I want that ability and training.
9) In the event that I want to fight for constitutionality and the rights of our nation, I can after I graduate
10) It's just plain awesome.XP

I fear the wounds are fatal - Perceptor
Prime, you can't die. - Daniel Witwicky

Probably some of the most painful lines to hear during the 1986 Animated film of the Transformers.

Big Boss Prime sustained grievous injuries and died in an epic battle against an army of Decepticons and probably the most dramatic throwdown he ever had with Megatron. People debate whether or not he would've lived if Hot Rod hadn't been a liability, yet regardless of this, Prime's death was an epic moment in the lives of children of that era. Outraged parents sent flame mail to tell Hasbro that their children were devastated by the death of the hero.

He didn't die in the first Michael Bay film and that's why lots of us expect he'll die in this one. He just has to. It's a part of his history. And it's the only way he'll be able to come back as corrupted Prime in the 3rd film.

But knowing that he's going to die won't make watching that scene any less dramatic, or any less difficult to watch. Just like Gandalf in the new LoTR films.

Do not grieve. Soon I shall be one with the Matrix.

It's going to be epic that scene. I'm sure Bay's going to have his own way about it but there are just a couple of things that would be nice to see.
1) Prime taking out at least 10 decepticons all by himself
2) Prime taking out Devastator
3) Prime finishing Megatron off before succumbing to his injuries

Big Boss Prime just has to go out in a blaze of glory. Any less would be a disgrace to the character's history.

One day an Autobot shall rise from our ranks and use the Matrix's power to light our darkest hour.

Which of course leaves the final question: Who will take over as the new Prime? Hot Rod isn't in the film and Bumblebee was developed into the impressive foil that he is. I think it'd be kind of cool to see him get Primed up. If not, they can always do it like with Ultra Magnus where he was simply a carrier till the Matrix found a new chosen one.

Until that day, till all are one.

I can't wait for the release. Someone please get me advanced screening tickets!X)

It's 1:54am and I felt like recaping these first two weeks of June. I guess the urge comes from the fact that today, June 15, is my last day of freedom before the new adventure that is law school.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not afraid. I'm excited really. But even then, I'm still anxious. I've been dreaming about this for the past so many years ever since 3rd grade. Now that it's here... it's here. haha.

But back to topic:

June 3 - rainy birthday
I woke up early that morning to the wind howling and the rain pouring. What a wake-up call, eh? I looked to my phone and found only two messages. One from Krys and the other from Erik. For some reason, I just didn't really feel the birthday vibes.

Well, that was until I got up again a few hours later to constant greetings every few minutes. My facebook was flooded with greetings and shout-outs were on plurk. Let's just say I really felt the love and I'm so thankful to all of you for making me happy on my birthday.

Sure it was spent at home but the stream of greetings kept me company the whole day while I wrote and facebooked the hours away. Couldn't really do much since the rain was coming down hard but I could, at least, not let it drain my spirits.

So yeah, compared to last year, my birthday this year was a calm and peaceful one.

June 4 - semi-served at RVC
I paid for my tuition that morning and then chose to hangout with SE-RVC. I was supposed to serve but due to technical problems and the power going out, most of us just ended up bonding at SE106. haha.

I missed you, Pakaye! I'm super glad you're back!X) Si CJ, sobrang sabaw minsan. hahaha. Luv' you, Ceej.XP Go TF ROTF!XD

June 5 - law freshie orientation and a belated, birthday semi-celebration
Initially I wasn't so excited about this day. The schedule was from 8-5 and I had expected exactly what would happen. Talk, more talk, even more talk, did I mention talk(?) and then an afternoon session with the block handlers (Go, A2012!).

I however had not anticipated just how much awesome law would be. Sure Dean Leonen doesn't have the same commanding voice as Dean Fab or Dean De Dios but he has the same commanding intellect. I'm actually excited to have him as my prof for Consti 2 next sem.

We were also given the honor of listening to three different speakers of, amusingly, three different stereotypes. We had the traditional nun lawyer (studied her life away in lawschool), the crazy loud woman lawyer (love you, ma'am rhoey! Moot court ftw!), and Reese Witherspoon from Legally Blonde (jeezus woman, you make getting Magna in law seem so easy). Srsly, I forget her name right now, but she was everything Legally Blonde from the way she talked to the way she dressed to her college stories to the fact that she graduated Magna Cum Laude and is already working as an associate at Puno&Puno. Wuh.

Note, to drive the amazing-ness of her Magna:
The number of Magna Cum Laudes since 1911 (the founding of UP Law): 4
The number of Summa Cum Laudes since 1911: NONE

Shiz yo.

Another highlight of the morning: the beginning of what seems like a good 4-year-long partnership with Migs Tirona. A geek after my own heart. God Ginrai, pare! haha.

We're never sitting beside each other in class. EVER. We'd probably just end up getting shouted at by the profs. haha. So we've agreed to maintain the craziness outside of class and be the nerds that we are within the quarters of our classroom.X)

The afternoon with the block and the block handlers was fun enough. CK, Bambi, Tirona, AJ and I bonded over the McDo treat A2012 prepared and then we all left at around 5-ish.

But my day didn't end there. Dana invited me to join her pre-birthday dinner (her birthday was the next day) at TOSH. AND she told me that cLaire was going to be there. Lordie, I missed you so much, cLairebear!XP

The dinner at TOSH was fun. cLaire, as always, was late. haha. But we can't take that against her. We all know that time just seems to stop for cLaire while it keeps going for us.X) After catching-up for awhile, she moved to the other side of the table to hang with her and Dana's masscomm friends (most of them former classmates of mine in duckpin bowling or in j152. haha). I went on to get to know Dana's Povedan friends.

Jordy! You geek! I know very few girls who actually know Saber Rider, the Old He-Man, the original G.I. Joe series, and all that other geek stuff. haha. I hope Boards went well. Looking forward to introducing you guys to Drew's.XP

Also met Pam and Bernice. Pam reminds me of Yla. haha. And yes, the most entertaining aside from Jordy (although I didn't get to talk to her much), Erica (or is it Erika?). She reminds me of a cross between Pao Engracia and someone who I can't put my finger on at the moment. Let's just say that her cellphone rang and what played was the Final Fantasy 7 (and onwards) victory theme. I turned to her and said "I know we're not close yet but you have to bluetooth that to me" hence my message tone now is the FF Victory theme. haha. Found out she's a KH geek too. Lol.

After, TOSH Katipunan, I headed for Eastwood where I met up with Raya. The original plan had been to go party at Manor that night. But because of the presence of a schoolbag over my shoulder, a not-so-great outfit selection that morning, and my nerd-instincts kicking in because of the scheduled mock recit the next day, I chose to just hangout awhile and catch-up. Miss you, Raya. haha.X)

At around 10, I said my goodbyes to Raya, Kris and JB (the latter two arrived about 30 minutes after I got there) and was set to go home. That is until I was pleasantly surprised with a familiar face. Bro Enteng was there with people from URC. We talked awhile and did a little bit of catching-up and then Ngertz told me that Erik was there too with his batchmates at the MT program.

Of course I rushed to see my best bud and that was probably the most publicly humorous greeting we've shared. Erik shouted from about "HOY!" 15 feet away, out in the open air where lots of people were seated. If that wasn't enough, we gave each other a bro high five and I was sent flying about two feet backward from the force of the bump he hit me with. haha. I would've stayed and crashed their party but I'm not that fresh (and I really felt like going home and being a nerd). haha.

So yeah, got home and fell asleep on the couch while waiting for Noey to get off so that I could make my digest. Eventually made it at 4am of the next day.

I'd planned to party hard over the weekend to make up for my "stay home" birthday but seeing my three favorite people in the whole world without any prior planning absolutely made my day. cLairebear, I hope you've found the job for you. Raya, goodluck at Bounty! Erik, URC, yeahmehn!X)

I couldn't have asked for better for my birthday celebration.

June 6 - mock recit and impromptu block bonding
I don't really want to get into details about the mock recit. haha. I didn't get called but to say that I got "first day shock" is an understatement. Like I texted Mia after, Sir Molo DESTROYED us and then stepped on the little pieces of our egos littered on the floor after the continuous rain of intellectual blows. But what made me happy was that I knew the answers to all the questions except for one (which I found out later no one in the class knew either). I'm ready for lawschool, baby. Give it to me straight! No salt, no lemon.

Migs and I pushed for a block lunch at McDo and a post-recit block inuman that afternoon. Not everyone was present but attendance was high among our blockmates and we all had fun getting to know each other and just ranting and raving about the mock recit session we'd just had.

Since not a lot of people could go to the inuman that afternoon, we told Madi (our block president) to arrange another one for the week after (since classes had been postponed till the 16th. BEST NEWS EVER that day.XD) But I, Tirona, AJ, Paco, Vien, Anj and Krizel still went to Cantina. And then to Drew's.

What happens in Drew's stays in Drew's. Sorry, guys, no details on who we got wasted that afternoon. haha. Migs had to leave but Erik arrived and kind of served as a proxy. lol. Thanks for passing by, dude. Always fun when you're around.

June 7 - family lunch at Chili's
I LOVE CHILI'S nao. haha. Gonna' celebrate there a lot more often.XP

June 9 - RVC and block bonding at drew's
We'd told Madi that we wanted the block bonding early in the week instead of on Friday (since we all wanted more days to be sober before class came along). So since it was set for 4pm at Drew's, I opted to serve at RVC to pass the time.

I love you kids so much! You guys make me so proud.:) Goodluck in all your endeavors (within and without RVC) and I promise to always help serve whenever I'm free and have time.

The block bonding, to say the least, was a blast. And just like above, what happens in Drew's, stays in Drews. haha. But I got 3 people drunk, 2 other people tipsy, and officially got branded by Tirona and the others to be the example and picture for the term "motherfucker" in the dictionary. AJ is the example and picture for "beeotch" and Migs is the one for "asshole". haha. I love my block!

I doubt we'll be having another inuman session anytime soon *coughcough*bullshitbullshit*coughcough* but I promise you guys we'll have one out of town when this sem ends. Let's prove to everyone that we can get high and still have fun.X) Go, Block A2013!

June 11 - Justin's birthday
Missing attendees were Lia and A.:( Bawi kayo next time!X) But it was fun being back at the Don Antonio Royale clubhouse. haha. memories, eh Jana, Chesca?XP We even had the same bartender (Jana, naalala ka pa niya!XD).

There were lots of old faces as well as many of the new ones. But the one thing in common was the everyone there at that night were GV. Good vibrations make the world a happy place.:)

Bonded with Sam again. Dude, let's set up your despedida for Eastwood! Para sa condo mo after at walang parental supervision.X) We need together (as in really, really) party before you leave in July.

June 13 - out with tiffy and shopping with the best personal fashion consultant ever
This day was such a blast.:) Gawd, I missed you so much, Tiff! Soldier down! LINTE GID!X)

You standing there in front of Starbucks at Theatre Mall with your aviators on while texting was so epic I wish I'd taken a picture of you. Taray, dude.XP hahaha

We'll do this more often in the future, I promise you that. And next time Brian tells you "Welcome to Manila", I'll be there to enjoy it. haha.

Got 3 long-sleeves this day too. Haha. Solids are boring. Time to expand my wardrobe of Stripes.XP Thanks for accompanying me, Raya. I hope Dennis' party was blast.X)

June 15 - random last-minute stuff
Going to LSGH today to file for my OTR. Alma Mater fail. My clearance and OTR from UP are pending because they still don't have my f137 from LSGH.

I'll see if I pass by the UPSE freshie orientation. I really do miss everyone and knowing my schedule and workload at law, I'm not going to be able to visit that often (without to-do cases hovering at the back of my head to boot).

Gonna' watch a movie with Mia at Eastwood after. Although I'm praying somehow they'll be showing Star Trek again, it looks like we'll be checking out Pelham123. Denzel's really starting to look like Morgan Freeman. haha

Ohwell, that's enough rambling.:) 3:23 and I need to hit the sack.

GV. I love my life.:)

I understand where my mom's coming from. I know hindi siya sanay na I go out every other day. At times I'm more spontaneous than how I think my parents expected me to be.

But I just really wish they could see why I just want to go out and have fun these last few days. Well, I think dad does, but I wish mom would see it too.

I've got (including today) 5 days left of freedom. Because by Tuesday, I'll officially be a UP Law student. And aside from the fact that my parents brought me up well enough to really care about my studies and my future, I think they sometimes forget that they were the ones who ingrained this dream so deep in me.

I'm not going to screw up law school. I am going to be a lawyer in four years. Why? Because they wanted it so bad that I wanted it so bad. I need to be a lawyer because I'll feel inadequate about myself if I don't. I need to be a lawyer because I've banked all my dreams for the future on this one stepping stone, on this one foundation for my life.

What does that entail? That entails me giving up a lot of the laxity and freedom I've had in the previous years. Laxity and freedom that I only really relished in the past two thanks to my parents relaxing their rules with me.

4-8 hours of studying everyday. Wednesdays and Fridays spent buried in cases. Sessions of unforgiving recitation and other steep requirements. It's painful just thinking about it.

Painful because I love to have fun. I never knew just how much I loved to have fun until recently. And because I'll have to let go of that fun for this higher purpose, this bigger dream of mine.

(But) It's worth it.

So yeah, if I get grounded after this week, sige nalang. I won't be going out anytime soon anyway. I just want to fill myself with enough anti-burnout before the gravity of my new reality drops on my shoulders like the weight of a mountain.

Amusing as it seems, I know for a fact that the only reason I get high scores in everything is because I have incentives to work for and look forward to. Take away the happiness and I'll burnout just like everyone else. And then my performance will drop. Drastically.

The dream sched:
Today - Justin's birtday party
Friday - hopefully an afternoon or night out with Tiffy. (I miss you, cuz.:( )
Saturday - Dairy Queen afternoon with Raya
Sunday - day with family. Can we all go shopping or something? Tutuban? Divi?
Monday - movie with Mia

Tuesday - Welcome to Law School, Nate. You're not here to be just a lawyer. You're here to become a great lawyer.

Cum Laude, or Purple Feather in the least, here I come!

From Mia:
Three Fandoms - Gossip Girl, X-Men, Star Trek

Comment to this entry and I'll pick three of your fandoms. You must then update your journal and answer the following questions:

1) What got you into this fandom in the first place?
2) Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?
3) Favorite episodes/books/movies/etc.?
4) Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?
5) Do you think that more people should get into this fandom?

Gossip Girl (the TV series):
1) I'd been hearing a lot about this series from an old friend of mine. She'd slide it into our conversations and then tell me that lots of her outfits and those of her friends were (at that time) currently influenced by the show's characters' styles. She also mentioned that a mutual friend of ours, Noel Reyes, had found another geek outlet in it.

I felt like checking it out but I never really found the time. That is until after the summer plan sem of AY 07-08. Reg Nario (I miss you, kiddo. I hope you're doing well), my ward, had brought the third book of the Gossip Girl series with her and out of boredom in the afternoon cause everyone was (for some reason) having a siesta, I asked if I could read it.

If you've read even just the start of the third book, then you already know who was the first character I came across. Yes, Blair Waldorf. I got to about chapter 4 or 5 whereafter I closed my eyes and mulled my thoughts over. Blair's character reminded me very much of my aforementioned friend, who by that time I was already having a falling out with (I miss you. I'm sorry).

I made time to watch it when I got home. Grabbed Noey's cd where the avis were on and went on a marathon. I've been hooked ever since.

2) I'll be staying for a long time. People know that I stay up on Tuesday evenings till Wednesday mornings just to watch the latest ep as soon as it comes out. haha. Aside from the emotional attachment caused by memories and feelings rekindled by the characters, story and plot, my love for the series has evolved into utter geekness.

I can't wait for Season3. I want a ruckus like Dan-Blair or Dan-Georgina. Should be fun if they extend the storylines unlike the 2-ep mortality rate in Season2.

3) Favorite ep? hrmm, kinda' hard to pick. But usually anything with "bitch" Blair in it. I think my fave scene though was at the end of Season 1 when CBN put aside all differences and got back together to help S. That scene in the Waldorf foyer was just classic.XP

4) I don't really do forums but I love going geeking out and going fan with any friends who like GG too. Mia's my number one geek go-to when it comes to GG.X) And no, no GG fanfics. Lol

5) I know GG's already got a ginormous following but it wouldn't hurt to spread the love. It makes it easier for me to use GG allusions and stuff in regular conversation.

X-Men:
1) I have my dad to thank for this. He'd been an X-Men fan for a long, long time. He even had a monthly subscription at Greenhills for several X-Men titles. I can't remember how far back anymore but he'd always try to expose me and Noey to this specific branch of Marvel heroes.

Back in Grade 3 (I think it was Grade 3) when he found out that GMA was going to air the original X-Men animated series, he sat me and my sister down in front of the TV and let us eat dinner in front of it just so we wouldn't miss it. We recorded that first episode and each one after it till the seasons ended.

He had our Tita Winnie in the States send us back the entire Season1 on VHS along with a copy of the Pride of the X-Men one shot.

I guess, my dad's enthusiasm and love for the comics rubbed off on me and all the values he wanted me to learn about heroism, teamwork, leadership, determination I got from these characters.

I eventually became the geek I am now by reading every major X-Men (and then Marvel) characters' background online as well as nearly every major story plot. I constantly update myself on what's happening even if I don't read all the comics for lack of time.

2) Me, leave the Marvel fandom? You've got to be kidding me, right? That's not even a question.

3) Currently, my fave animated feature is the Wolverine vs. Hulk animated short. That one was intense. Jeezus.

4) I write fanfiction. I have my own AU called Earth626 and you can find the link on my lj. Noey says we've got a sizeable fan-following. haha

5) YES! period.

Star Trek:
1) My parents! Srsly, my mom and dad are such Trekkies. They watched both the First Generation and the Next Generation.

Brining me up as the geek that I was, I eventually became a fan of the show too. Sure, when I was younger, all I cared about were phasers and Enterprise vs. Bird of Prey battle scenes, but those times I'd sit and watch eventually gave me a love for this wonderful space drama. And kamown, how could anyone not love Spock and Data?? Dude. haha

2) I'm still here aren't I? And I watched the new film on the first night, right? haha. No questions here. I do hope they make a trilogy out of the new AU. It'll be fun to watch Kirk instead of Picard for a change. And yes, "When the heck did Star Trek become sa fast-paced intense!?!?" still goes through my head when I see the movie again.XP

3) Favorite movie? It's a toss-up between the one with the alien whales threatening to destroy Earth if no whales respond back to them, the Next Gen film with "The Ribbon" and the one where the Borg attack again. Jeezus, I need to review.X)

4) Haha, I'm not really a forum boy. I'd rather spend my time watching the show and talking about it with friends than going into debates online. Andyeah, I'll admit, I'm not a guru when it comes to Star Trek as opposed to my knowledge of the Marvel Universe.XD

5) People, if you haven't watched the new Star Trek film, you're missing out on HALF your life. If you've got stigma cause you thought the series was "slow" and/or "boring", go to the theaters now while/if it's still showing and prove yourself wrong.:)

In other news, I can't wait for Transformers2, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, the 6th HP film and Nine. I'm going to be watching a lot of movies in the theaters this year. haha

Okay, so yeah, thanks to Cocoy for reminding me, but I did read that they plan to have Prime and Jetfire do the whole combiner thing.

Some people may feel this is really weird and that it echoes Transformers Armada and the winged Optimus Prime but this actually is an allusion to something much older.

In the old, original Japanese Transformers Headmasters series, there was a character called Star Saber. He looked like Voltes V and used a sword (duh, Star Saber) and he could transform into a plane.

In this same series, Optimus Prime (known as Ginrai) was the Grand Leader who passed his rank onto Star Saber. When Prime returned, he followed as a faithful soldier until he was defeated by the Destrons. Not wanting to lose their former leader and great comrade, the Cybertrons made Optimus Prime undergo a dangerous revival process. The product was a new body for him which was called Victory Leo.

Leo was anything but Prime. He was brash, angry and individualistic. But part of his memory and emotions as Prime returned when Star Saber's adopted human son (also Prime's good friend) was in danger. Victory Leo heeded the boy's calls and saved the day.

Later on in the series. Star Saber and Victory Leo combined with the help of a new unification circuit. Their combined form was called Victory Saber. Victory Saber wiped the floor with his enemies.

Lol. Honestly, I don't like the combiner angle. I want Prime to go out in the a blaze of glory as Prime just like he did in the G1 1986 movie; taking out all the Decepticons alone and throwing Megatron off a cliff with a super sayonage before succumbing to his injuries.

Please, please, please let Prime die in the next film. I want him to come back as corrupted Prime in the 3rd film. haha
