creepy thin man [08 Oct 2008|04:43pm] pepperminte last night nicky and i went to the chauvell to see crispin (hellion) glover! my oh my, that man has an interesting brain inside his head. we got to watch his film 'what is it' (which is so odd! but ultimately interesting. the subject matter is really quite out of the ordinary, but i think he is a bit of a genius. his books, you must take a look at his books!),and he read some of his books and then talked to the audience in these funny tangents and kept shuffling his feet. he did a book signing. i was too scared to talk to him, but now i wish that i had.(although, we got to shake his hand. he was very kind.) and then it was hamburgers at midnight. and its back to university tomorrow. Top 10 Reasons I hate Houston (In no particular order) [07 Oct 2008|07:05pm] kadytran 1. The air is too thick. 2. The summers are miserable and humid. If you step outside for 5 minutes, you're probably going to sweat. 3. The drivers are extremely aggressive and rude. 4. It's too big. If you're on the east coast and you drive for more than 45 minutes, you're in another state. In Houston, when you drive for 45 minutes, you're still in Houston. 5. It's too confusing to get around. Too many forks in the road, the streets split off randomly, the names of the streets will change a couple of times. I've lived here my whole life and still manage to get lost in some parts of town. 6. There's always construction. we moved for the second time in a month! [04 Oct 2008|09:19pm] cementloveriot [ mood | refreshed ] [ music | deerhunter ] we moved into a new, new place. the married student housing was too small and full of babies. this place has NO babies and is superconveniently located - less than a block from a bus stop to take me to school, and across the street from a grocery store/pharmacy/random restaurants. and we have our own washer and dryer! and a garage! oh life's simple pleasures. we are going to paint this place pretty colors and decorate it! the wooden floors are BRAND SPANKIN NEW and shiny. greg and i are very quickly filling the rooms with love as we unpack boxes and watch our home unfold. we really have an amazing marriage...and portable too! dental school is pretty rad so far, but moving very quickly. i am very good at making teeth out of colorful wax. comfort foods are always welcome in situations like a new school and new apartment. for lunch i made baked penne with vodka sauce and cheese melted on top. dindin consisted of more comfort food. i like pineapples (obviously) and also grilled cheese sandwiches with ketchup. some people think it's weird to dip my sammiches in ketchup. i don't see how it is any different from dipping it in tomato soup. some people make grilled cheese sandwiches using mayo instead of butter. that seems weird to me. 7  Get known
