TOMORROW I GET TO SIT IN ON THE KUNG FU PANDA PRESS CONFERENCE WITH JACK BLACK, JACKIE CHAN, DUSTIN HOFFMAN, AND ANGELINA FUCKING JOLIE.
Today I also saw Natalie Portman and Sean Oenn on their way to the Jury press conference.
Yesterday I went on Paris Lastis' Yacht to organize an interview that will take place friday with Harrison Ford, George Lucas, Shia LeBeouf, and Karen Allen.
Tomorrow I will also be working with Mary Hart and the entire crew for Entertainment Tonight, who I went out to dinner with last nite.
I love my internship and my life right now. |

Last nite I totally ID'd Gemma McFarland on John Mayer Has a TV Show. I thought it was really funny.
Today I went to the beach all day, went topless, got wayyyy too drunk off of sneaky pete's, got Mexycannes for dinner [incredible], and passed out by 8 o'clock. It's 2a now and I just woke up. I am SO sunburned it's painful as shit. Any advice for getting rid of it? |

Also, I'm really not looking forward to going back to Quinnipiac. But I am looking forward to the next 3 months, Paris this weekend, Rome the weekend after with Mike for Easter, and Scotland for ten days at the end of March/beginning of April, Amsterdam at the end of April, Ireland sometime in May, every other day being here with people I really love, the festival in May, and honestly everything in between.
Life is going too fast right now. I want to hold onto it before it's lost. |

"We Will Become Silhouettes" by The Postal Service will forever remind me of reading Ender's Game on the bus on the way to school in ninth grade, and how it made me feel. |

I've decided to take out my lip ring. good story, right?
I'm in a bum mood. Stupid things are getting me down that i just shouldn't let get me down. Most things here are amazing, i'm just letting certain people get me down.
I went to the Carnaval de Nice today and it was incredible.
The end. |

I just found out that since my french course here is 3 hours a day, 5 days a week, for 16 weeks, I will be able to receive 3 classes worth of french credits while I am here. Which means that by the end of the semester, I will have technically taken 5 french courses. Which meanssssss that I will only have to take one more french class at Quinnipiac and I will have completed my French minor. What now, beezies? That excites me SO much because I was expecting to come over here and end up being behind on credits, but getting my minor practically out of the way will take a HUGE load off my shoulders. It's unfortunate because I really enjoy french and want to take it more in college, but at least my requirements will be filled.
This also means that I only have to take 2 seminars while I'm over here, aka I only have 3 classes all semester and will be getting credit for 5. I'm pleased, to say the least.
I'm craving wings over hamden. Anyone want to ship them to me? |

I just finished watching Miss America, and I really enjoyed it. It's nice to be able to watch someone's dream become reality in the matter of a moment. It gives me a bit of hope for myself. |

Today I had an eye doctor's appointment and got new contacts. It's nice to be able to see. I think I'm getting new glasses before I go to france. I love my glasses, but they keep breaking, and I'd like it if I could wear my glasses more often. I've been told that I look better with them on that I do just normally. I took it as a compliment.
I also had a regular doctor's appointment and got two shots. One against HPV, and one against Hepatitis A, which you can apparently get from eating certain foods and drinking certain drinks made with contaminated materials? I don't know when I will ever encounter food like that, but I do know that I don't want Hepatitis. I was brave. Didn't even flinch. I still go to my pediatrician because it's ridiculously hard to get an appointment to see a new doctor without waiting a few months, and I needed to get my birth control re-prescribed. I've been off it for the past month or so and do not like feeling like I'm taking a risk. The doctor did tell me that I am completely healthy and disease free. I suspected as much, but it is always nice to be reassured of the fact.
I also saw Owen today, which was really really nice because it has been at least a year, if not more. We just met up in the center and caught up on everything. He is someone that I have known since I was 9 years old and is also someone that I can go a while without seeing and then feel completely comfortable with the second that we're back together. He's such a great person. It just made me feel good. |

I've started a blog for my semester abroad which can be found here: http://karaincannes.blogspot.com/
I'll still be writing here as well for personal things, but I thought it would just be good to have a separate space to do some writing for my friends and family back home to read about my trip!
Check it outttt :] I promise it will get more exciting once I'm actually in france! |

I'm alive. I'm in Heathrow, have been for the past six hours and will be here for about another four. I do not want to go home. Scotland is beautiful, and without a doubt where I will end up as soon as I am done with my obligations to school. I love it to the point that I want to abandon my obligations to school and move there now. Unfortunately, the chances of that are slim. I'm working on making them greater. Once internet isn't costing me a pound every ten minutes (roughly $2 per ten minutes) I'll be researching. It's always me and my big dreams that I somehow let myself let slip away. Maybe this will be the time.
I have honestly never been somewhere that I felt so completely right while knowing almost absolutely no one. Glasgow's a good fit for me, as are all the friends that I made in my week there. Hogmanay is incredible. So are David, Andrew, Alexander, Karen, Jay, and his entire family. The country is beautiful, the people are beautiful, I want it.
I'm sick and so sleep deprived. A proper entry will come when I'm home. |
