A new reason to be proud that I grew up in Connecticut: same-sex couples can now get married there.


Other things that stir pride for my childhood home include Katharine Hepburn, Mark Twain's house, their State Constitution's influence in drafting the U.S. Constitution, Gilmore Girls, and... um, I got nothin.  CT is a good state, don't get me wrong; just hard to dredge up much excitement around it.  I mean the capital city's claim to fame is as "The Insurance Capital of the World", can I get a what what?

Anyway, Connecticut will probably become a more culturally interesting place now that it's a haven for the gayfolk, even if they're all boring married couples.
