I saw the Exorcism of Emily Rose tonight and I have to say that it was more than I expected, but less at the same time. The way the story unfolded, I liked it, it wasn't completely chronological. The story was told through flashbacks, which I wasn't expecting. The general effects and "scares" of the flick were pretty run of the mill mostly drawing on the "jumpy factor". It wasn't grotesque really, but more, things were scary when it was sudden, like a door slamming off-screen. Not my favorite type of scary but it worked for the ambiance of the film. Acting was really over-the-top during certain scenes, and other times it was like watching "Law and Order". If you like thriller (I wouldn't really call it horror) movies, go see it. Or, if you're on the fence, wait till the video. It might not be as long as you think. Be wise to note, there as a LOT of screaming during the movie, so it's rather grating after a while.
I noticed a family brought their child to this movie....the kid was not older than 5 years old.... the ticket may have cost the family only $6.75, but the therapy bills for him will be so much more. Seriously, who brings a small child to a movie like that? Minorities be crazy... and those of you that know me, don't say ANYTHING!!
So, it seems that things seem to be not going so well for a few people I know, and I wish there was more I could do for them. In some cases, they don't know me well enough to open up to me, or in other cases, its just been a while. Either way, I want to help and the best way I know how is to lend an ear. I like listening, it makes me feel good helping other people....for the most part.
I'm tired, i wanted wendy's but now i think i want to sleep....
