all right here's where i start getting people going "huh, are you SURE?"
TRACK 4 of my 13 FAVORITE NEW ORDER SONGS IN ASCENDING ORDER:
KRAFTY

New Order: Krafty
I've said and said and said and argued and fought with people, both enlightened and musically vapid, that New Order's 'Waiting For The Siren's Call" was a great album, and it was. The first song that came from that was this little breaksy tune, an ode to free life, really, as only New Order could do it. Lyrically, it's dumb, but I remember burning a copy of this CD for so many people at the end of 04 or early 05 and having them continue to come back to it. There are memories of being entirely too fucked-up on substances I shouldn't have done, looking for a way out of a situation I got myself into because we always fall in love with image, don't we, and then that image becomes as addicting as a quarter bag of anything.
Give me one more day.
Give me another night.
GIve me a second chance.
This time i'll get it right.
No second changes, though, unless it's through one's self. Because, at its' heart, New Order write inspiring songs about absolutely nothing. And as a fucking rallying cry to not work, 'Krafty"'s at the god-damn top.
Yes, it gets more personal as the numbers ascend and YES, number 13 will be a god damn book.
