BioThe Wednesday Society want you and your mother. It’s a Freudian thing.
Not bursting but striding onto local stages in December 2004, The Wednesday Society have brought their style of bashful peacock rock and suited sublimities to many of Perth’s premier venues. With erratic control and jaw-clenched pulses, this four-piece embrace a bounty of post-punk references with a twist of lime thank you very much guv’nor, catchy when you don’t want it, and persuading your shaking hips to jerk about an ever-ailing carriage. And their strings do snap like you and I.
The Wednesday Society are Brendan Jay, Tricks Berney, Wingate Sher, and Cameron Palmer. They met in a boring way and have long since surpassed making boring music. They do not “buzz!” but increasingly hum within the cavities of many. And black is their velocity.
