I'm utterly captured by this song: Fireflies, by Owl City (click to go to YouTube video).
There's about five reasons I can identify, foremost among them the fact that I can clearly picture the motion-graphic-heavy video I need to do to this song (fireflies and sparkles everywhere!) But mostly I think it's that thing that happens when a sound and voice and mood come together in such a way as to circumvent my brain and go directly to my nervous system. I don't know why this happens but I really love it when it does, you know? And it's not a certain type of music, either - the last group that crawled inside and took me over was Evanescence. (...lol!)
Oh, what a perfect song for today!

...'Cause I get a thousand hugs,
From ten thousand lightning bugs.
As they try to teach me how to dance,
A foxtrot above my head,
A sockhop beneath my bed.
The disco ball is just hanging by a thread...
From ten thousand lightning bugs.
As they try to teach me how to dance,
A foxtrot above my head,
A sockhop beneath my bed.
The disco ball is just hanging by a thread...
