My darlings - what lovelies I have for you today!

First, these designs of the 493 Pokemon with trainers in outfits matching their pokemon are just about the most delightful art I've seen in months! I was totally *squee*ing at so many of them! This style of illustration appeals to me at a gut level, I don't know why - not just The Cute but the actual way the characters are drawn, the line quality, and the coloring - OH, they just make me happy inside!* LOOK AT THOSE CHAR-BOYS! (Hel-LO Cai!!!)

Speaking of art, I have an interview with The Art Institute of Colorado tomorrow: anybody know anything, good or bad, about these Art Institutes that are all over? Looks expensive but personalized and heavily focused on getting you practical skills and a good job. (under "Design", looking at "Graphic Design, B of A")

Look who's in town on March 13th... Benny Benassi, baby! "Satisfaction" indeed: He's totally my musical daddy, eh, Candy? HA! The downside for me? No WAY can I afford $30 tickets :( Anybody know a promoter that can get me in? *bats eyelashes* Regardless, I think I'd like to take a closer look at this Beta place sometime. Anyone else?

Gimme Gimme Pillow Toast is hosting Japan Nite at the HiDive on March 19th. Who'd like to meet up? C'mon, 8 bucks and you get all this goodness!

Aaaand back to art: I find Mark Kennedy's blog to be the most consistently useful nugget of gold that I've found on the web re: teaching myself art. He writes in an understated cool sort of way, too, and he's knowledgeable and has all sorts of Disney pictures and uses lots of examples in his blog and he's funny and... well, he's my new favorite for sure. Check it out: he never fails to please (and how often can you say THAT of a guy?!? *snicker*) I don't know anything about him, but someday I'm going to find out...

Last art link - my 8-year old and I have been reading Spilling Open, by Sabrina Ward Harrison. Though she's a little high-falootin' in the Deep Philosophy of Her Art (and here I wish to remind her she uses crayons and masking tape and her handwriting is barely legible, so come down out of that Ivory Tower and just talk to us, girl!), this book is opening up a dialoge between my daughter and I Like WOAH. Which is awesome, and I'm inspired!

Enjoy any and all of those links, locals get back to me on the doings you'd like to come to (email works best), and I hope you enjoy looking at the pretties!

*I have no idea who to credit for these pictures: someone help me out with the translation and I'll credit.
