I'm all grown up now... and I wish I would have savored more silly moments, happy and sad moments....counted my blessings and wished on more stars. I wish time didn't go by as fast as my granny used to tell me it would. I wish I could have more of those days when I can just go across the street and catch fireflies in mason jars with my older cousins. Those were the days when my grandaddy's bluegrass band would play for hours at night... and I loved that. The sound of his mandolin... that's what he would play. I wish I could go back in time on those moments... the nights where the kids were running around playing hide-n-go-seek and making up stories just because we thought owned the world. Those were the days... when we thought we knew everything. When we wanted to be super heros. When we thought being old was lame and being cool was everything. When we didn't measure happiness in the amount of love from our families, but from how many barbie dolls we had. Or how long our favorite cartoon lasted. Or when we could have slumber parties on the weekends. And tell ghost stories in the back yard with only a sheet and a flashlight. When summer was the ultimate song. And the laughter and skinned knees was the melody. I don’t want to grow up. Life was so much more simple.
