This looks funny. Let's see...

How about a story about an alchemist, his self-appointed apprentice, and a big, furry alien monster? They live in a rather arid looking place.. some sort of desert, I guess, as it doesn't have trees or any vegetation (save for a little herb garden next to their house). There are some hills in the distance. The house itself has two floors and is rather small. The first floor houses the alchemist's workshop and his room, and the upstairs has an apartment. Near to the house is also some sort of scrap yard full of metal junk. The owner of the yard is the characters' only neighbour.

The alchemist has a beard and is a rather surly sort of man. He used to have an apprentice who lived in the apartment upstairs, but he moved away, and so the alchemist put the apartment for rent. A woman offered to rent it, and since the alchemist lives in the middle of nowhere, he agreed. Too bad the woman is really nosy and wants to know what the alchemist is doing at all times... They fight a lot, but eventually they do get along, and while it is never agreed that she is his apprentice, that's what any outsider would assume.

Then, one day, some sort of space craft crash lands in the scrap yard, thus bringing the alien into the picture. He tends to get into trouble a lot, and hangs out in the alchemist's workshop quite often, much to his displeasure. The woman likes him, though, and thinks he is cute.

He glared at her across the room full of oddly misshaped metal objects, trying to ignore the proudly grinning furball as well as his precious potions and ingredients piled helter-skelter into the shelf at the far wall. "Monster-artwork?"

PS: While the alchemist was away for a few days the monster brought home some things from the scrapyard and started shaping them. The apprentice encouraged it and made room in the lab. ;)

Yay! You captured them so perfectly. I can see them being just like that if I close my eyes. (And now I'm wishing I could hear more... at least I won't get an impulse to write anything about them myself.)

And that's a lot of depth you managed to get in one (or two) sentences. You are talented. :)

Hey, it also took me a whole day to come up with the right sentence(s). Maybe with memes like these it's more of a failing actually, but I felt a need for it to mean something and not be just any random sentence. What use would that have been to you or me?
