*Sometimes it's easier to pretend that things are okay, rather than face a difficult truth. So we go through the motions, the rituals of everyday life. We hope the comfortable rhythms of familiarity will hold off the inevitable just a little longer; return things to normal, anything to buy us more time. Playing pretend, make believe, it might be the one thing we never outgrow.


*No one can promise you anything. You can't guarantee that you'll wake up tomorrow perfectly healthy. You can't guarantee that your mother and father will stay married. You can't promise that your best friend will always be there. But then...what's forever for?

*Life is sometimes in little pictures. You kind of flash back to those moments, and in all those moments, you think about the people you were with, the music you were listening to, and that feeling comes back. Penny represents the feeling, the song, the person that is always with you. 'It's always Penny and me tonight.'
