yesterday was a great release day.
i got 3.
MUSE "black holes and revelations"
JOHNNY CASH "american V: a hundred highways"
THOM YORKE "the eraser"
all phenomenal CDs.
went to see the black crowes w/ robert randolph & the family band and drive-by truckers last night, it was a pretty awful show, some stranger passed me a joint, the lawn was filled with hippies and the backdrop just had a bunch of mushrooms on it with a sunrise (or sunset) off in the distance, black crowes didn't play any of their hits except for jealous again, no hard to handle, no she talks to angels, no soul shakin, no someetimes salvation, no twice as hard, nothing. they just jammed a lot like widespread panic, it sucked.
Hell Or High Water still needs a new bass player.
We've got lots of shows coming up, Elliot is still playing with us until we can find someone new...

Thursday 5/18 - Brittany Lee O'Dell came into town and we kicked it live, drank some high life and hung out at Kara's for a while, then watched some 2000 maniacs over at elliot's house w/ some folks.
Friday 5/19 - Went to Record Exchange after getting my paycheck and bought new CDs (Don Caballero "World Class Listening Problem", The Evens "s/t", Junior Brown "Junior High", Hans Zimmer & James Newton Howard "Batman Begins Original Motion Picture Soundtrack"). My Mom and I went to NoDa for dinner at the mellow mushroom and gallery crawl, saw some new places, ran into Preston Yates Drum and his girlfriend. Went to Neighborhood Theater about 8 or 8:30 for David Childers & The Modern Don Juans w/ The Sammies and Duane Jarvis (sp?) which was really fucking good.
Saturday 5/20 - drove with Brittany to the speedway, immediately got disinfatuated and sold tickets for near nothing to some jerk-off sonofabitch redneck in the camping area. came back down and hung out w/ Noah, kenny, Bri-boy, Derek, Preston, etc... at the clement house then went down commonwealth to see carry on bomb and perfo at Peanut's house, a party that apparently got busted up by the cops after i left, i hope everything was gravy.
Sunday 5/21 - woke up late, real hungover, got my car and went home for a nap, woke up and showered, met Lisa who napped in my bed for 2 hours then we got taco bell and hit up the milestone, missed the first band but caught good sets by U.S. CHRISTMAS, BLACKFIRE REVELATION, SCISSORFIGHT (!) from New Hampshire, and ORANGE GOBLIN from london england.
today i slept in and i'd like to recommend some events this week for y'all to attend.
