This is my art journal. Day to day weirdness can be found over on

surreality, but I assure you I'm not very interesting.

Scans, photos, digital art, snippets of terrible fiction, not to mention rambling, ranting, or musing about all of the above will likely appear in this space -- and it will likely be much less coherent than that, considering how often I dabble in various creative experiments. (If you're looking for a cohesive vision, you might want to look elsewhere. I can't and never will promise that.)

I don't consider myself very good. Some people agree. Some don't. I'm not really worried about that, despite a desire to improve my work in a number of areas. I like to experiment, and tend to really annoy a lot of folks who like the work I do in one style because whether the results are good or bad, I still tend to move on to something completely different sooner or later.

I have a number of flaky, pseudo-philosophical/political/intellectual opinions about art. Some of them may emerge here. Consider yourself warned, but don't worry overmuch, because I have a lot of trouble taking myself seriously, so I don't often expect anyone else to do so, either.

Images involving most of the other things that so often get people screaming about what terrible fates befall the nation's youth once they innocently poke the internet with sticks will be appropriately labeled and behind a cut, which is also intended to help those browsing livejournal from their workplace not get fired because, oh my dear sweet mercies, there's a picture of a naked part on the screen! This roughly translates to: don't look if you know you're not supposed to. Anything that goes beyond subtle, artistic nudity or involves gore or subjects even I consider potentially controversial will be locked appropriately.

Add me if you like; I'm not paranoid about who might be looking at the things that will most likely end up on my website anyway, because that would be terribly silly. The `in-progress' views will appear here, though, and once a piece is done, that's an insight into the process that I won't be repeating elsewhere. If you think you want to see the warped stuff and are of age to view it, leave a comment and I'll likely add you back without the third degree.

A friendly reminder for the terminally clueless: All images appearing on this journal, unless otherwise noted, are copyright to me, their creator, and can't be used without permission. It's really not very hard to get permission from me, but don't assume you have it and use something before asking and get me all riled and needlessly huffy and screeching about what a nasty thief you are, because I probably will, and we all know how annoying that can get. Context is relevant. I'm not really keen on the notion of my work being used in certain ways, or by certain groups, so if you're interested in something for whatever reason, let me know what you want to use it for in the request.

No, I'm not currently selling prints/originals/custom character sketches/etc., if anyone is curious. Not selling them, and not doing them for free, either. I have a long list of requests for these, and I pick at them slowly when I can. Taking on more would be a really, really bad idea at this point. Some of the digital pieces may be available as limited edition prints in the future, but that would require finishing a few more of them, and that's a pretty uncommon event around here. The promise of money doesn't tend to get anything finished faster, or finished at all, either. This is why I'm destined to remain a starving artist, even if people would be inclined to buy or commission something.
