Hi!

The day is sunny and warm over here, it's a good thing because It's been quite cold and I was starting to fell a little sick, but the Spring sun brings a smile to my face and makes me feel better.



Like I mentioned in my precious email I had lots of things to show you, one of those things are my first handmade stamps!!! Yes I was brave enough to give it a try, thanks to my dear Friend LiLi that inspired me to try it after seeing her cute creations. And I came up with these a envelope mail stamp a spring leaf and a WIP mushie that I am going to show you later.



Not bad for my first try right? I am very satisfied with these and I have many more on the works right now, I also need to get the proper tools, carving blocks and ink pads because I carved these on erasers I had on my desk, is a really cool feeling and I want to try and make some with real carving rubber.

Passing to other goodies, I will continue to post all the swap parcels I've received over the past month :), I've been reading many emails asking for the photos and finally here are some of them, I hope you like them as much as I did.



These are the wonderful fabrics I got form my private swap with Jen ^_^, she's great and she sent me the cutest card :), Thanks Jen I really enjoyed our swap, can't wait to swap again!


ohh and How I wish this little Sewing Machine was real :), it would look great real size don't you think? I finally have this cute machine after a year of searching and asking for it everywhere, I made a Private swap with Shi form Brazil, they had it over there and she was kind enough to send me one along with the cutest HK candies and goodies.



Like for example this little Hello Kitty :) she's a cutie and that apple is so practical, I wish I had more for the craft studio to organize little things while working. Thanks for everything Shi ~ THANKS A BUNCH!

Pineapple Hello Kitty Says Bye Bye!

How's your Monday going ?

Mine started a little lazy, it's cold and It's hard to get out of bed, lucky enough we had some Hot Mexican Chocolate from last night, so that game me a little more energy :)

I am still a little sleepy because I stayed up all night looking at my photo Archive C_C there's a lot to be done and tons of photos to post, I am trying to organize all my files because it's hard to work when you have a mess and I've been procrastinating on that for some time.

Now let me post some White, Pinks and Reds ^_^, I've been looking at these colors everywhere and I can help myself to be inspired.


Here's my ♥ Valentine Fabric Stash ♥ lots and lots of hearts in white, pink and red, too cute! some of these fabrics are from last year and I got 2 new ones this year, I want to make plushy hearts, can't wait.



I just love Gingham Fabric, as soon as cut a small piece of it to make a YoYo I saw a little mushie friend telling me; .... make me .... Make ME!!! and I did, just look at him :) perfect for valentine charms , I am gonna make him some friends because he's all alone right now.




Here's my - Crafty Mushie WorkStation - I've been thinking of doing these mushie items for so long, I have them all in my sketchbook waiting to be done, but sadly I hardly find time to make my ideas, Sometimes I feel very bad because I am dying to make new stuff, I have old projects from 3 years ago that I'm still thinking about, that's why I'm organizing everything, maybe if I have everything in the right place it won't be so difficult to start crafting in the middle of the night :) this remind me that i need to get me some new lamps because the desk lamp I have sucks and makes my eyes hurt.


A sample of my - Stamp Collection - I love vintage used stamps, those are the best, here you will find some from Rome,Denmark and Austria :), I will keep posting more of these, they are a treat to look at!

I wanted to post his on Paper Toy Friday but I was out shopping and I came home too late ^_^, You still have time to make this one over the weekend because it is very simple and cute.

This one is super simple and cute, little kids won't have a problem with this one, it took me only 5 minutes to assemble and this time I didn't used the UHU glue as I always do, this time I tied the double sided tape Clarice sent me and It was perfect. because this toy has only long straight tabs and tape is perfect to glue those spots.

Designed for the Super-Duper Talented Chantal from Tummie Design this precious character will light up your day, his expression and Smile makes a great present for anyone :).


This paper toy it's unique because of the little details, Chantal ( the designer) put a lot of effort and detail and it totally pays off, the results are amazing!
It took me 3 hours to cut,glue and assemble, The template was just released Yesterday and I didn't take my time with this one, so that means that the measurements and instructions are very good, simple and precise, so you wont have any problem while putting all the pieces together.

This is a slightly complex Paper Toy because it has small pieces, I recommend the use of tweezers when you want to set up those small pieces in place.
But you don't have to be a pro to make one, you will need a little more patience if you're a beginner :), The difficulty level on this one is Medium ♥


But wait he's not alone, he comes with a happy gang of Mushroom Mates :) that he carries around in his two piece " Mover"
How cool is that??

Last week I said I had Paper Toy Pets for this Friday, But I recently found something better , cuter and super fast and easy to assemble.

What is it?? It's Big-Foot , this wonderful kawaii Paper Toy designed by the talented Illustrator Paul Shih

I just love this Paper Toy, it has it all, it's fun, Simple and oh! so Kawaii

It took me 5 - 8 minutes to assemble :) a perfect project for the weekend

Paul Shih created a masterpiece with this one, definitely one of my favorite paper toys ever!

It's Paper Toy Friday and this time I found a Fairy tale character form - Alice in Wonderland -



Remember these cute butterflies that Alice found in the Garden, when she talked with the flowers?



Yes I'm talking about the Bread and Butterfly lol ^_^ I've always liked these cuties and finally I got the chance to assemble mine :)



This funny fairy tale Paper Toy is Designed by Claudio Dias, he has more of these toys but I'm going to post one at the time :) so I can assemble each and every one of them ^_^

It took me a while like 40 minutes, this one is not as simple as the other paper toys I've posted, this paper toy is a little more complicated because it has a lot of small pieces and the tabs are small also so you have to be more careful when you're gluing together all the pieces.

But it's worth it, You shroud give it a try ^_^, you know the steps -->

Hi! how are you?, I hope you're doing fine, I've been working on pending things, procrastinating on the urgent ones X_X , playing with Scarlett and eating to much ice ream, because it's been hotter than usual around here.

I'm also trying to organize all my pictures because they always end up in a mess and the library has grown to a size that I get lost between folders X_X so I need a better system to access everything easily.



Anyway, I haven't finished the motorcycle bag, I need some special metal buttons that I can't find anywhere, I hate it when things like this happen because I don't like to leave unfinished projects, so here are some pictures of a embroidered pouch and some lovely felt flowers I made with Scarltett like 2 years ago.




I just love this embroidery floss, the colors and the way they fade in a single line :), I don't know why i never got to show these pictures, I really love my funky star, if you want to see a wider view of the pouch and the embroidered star look at my flickr Here


Have you seen the new Pirate HK line? ohh It's adorable, I've looked for it at my local Sanrio store but they don't have it, so I had to swap with Moofin from flickr these cute stuff along with fabrics and other stationery she sent.I want to get me the HK Pirate plush, It's so darn cute.


And finally these are some of the fabrics I got the other day, I'm guessing they would look great on a small pincushion or as small squares on a patchwork pouch.

What a crazy weekend it was :), but I still had fun after all, I went fabric shopping and received some really great canvas samples from my vendor, ohh I'm so crazy for fabric, I tend to have these fabric urges lol, looking and touching fabric is very inspiring.




I was so Inspired by the lovely colors of this fabric that I made a pin cushion and loved how it turned out, I made two , one for the bag of treats and one for me, ohh and I must tell you that I have a new obsession, I love these quilting pins with cute heads, too bad I can't find them here, I was lucky enough to find those heart shape ones at Joann's the other day and my friend Barbara send me a sampler of her collection in a swap we made.

I finally used a piece of my wonderful Decole fabric , I didn't want to cut it , but I really like how the bag turned out. I want to make more bags and a pouch.


ohh and I got these cuties in the mail 2 weeks ago, these are my favorite kind of memos -Die Cut- big or small I love them!
They're from KAMIO Japan and from the :: Pop'n Friends Line:: I think they have some left here at Kawaii Corner they sell so fast.
I also got me a die cut panda memo pad but I'm going to post that later.

Well I thinks that's enough eye candy for today :), Have to clean my desk the craft table and the threads and scraps of fabric that are stuck in the carpet. X_X

Today seems to be cooler than Yesterday and that's great news for me, because I hate sewing when It's hot I always get all sweetie eww, I was sewing late at night and I'm almost done with the motorcycle bag, and let me say it's coming along great, Now I'm sewing the inner pockets and the straps and then star cutting the other bag, they're cute big and heavy and my arms hurt a bit for lifting it. I also made a precious pin cushion for the ::: Bag of Treats :: Swap I'm preparing, photos of that one soon ;).

Anyway here is what I'm sending to the :CRAFT Matchbox Swap: the theme for this month is - Fruity Craft Supplies-, as soon as I read the theme title i knew I had to join in because I love fruits.



I love apples and I couldn't pass out the opportunity to decorate the matchbox with juicy colorful apples :), this time I didn't paint the box just cover it with a pattern I printed.



Fabrics, ribbon, trims,beads,buttons,embroidery floss, a strawberry pincushion and other embellishments are in this little pack , I hope my partner likes it. I had lots of fun putting all these items together.


This is another pack I sent to moofin from flickr, this is just a peak because I added more things to the swap.

Today I'm gonna try and finish the motorcycle bag and another small bag I'm doing for a the Bag of treats swap :), I already cut the pieces form one of my favorite Japanese fabrics :), it's going to look so pretty. Well take Care and Enjoy the weather!

It's so hot and Sunny here :) a good day to eat ice cream or take a walk at the park :)

I've been working on my pending swaps and I love to work with matchboxes they're so small and cute and you can fill them and decorate them with lots of nifty items, I've been having fun painting them :) here is the Kawaii Matchbox Swap I've sent recently -->


My partner lives near here and she got it yesterday :) I'm glad she liked it, I send her dome mini erasers, mini memos a plush I made with my gocco among other goodies.



And I was lucky enough to receive this lovely surprise from Ann Disaster from flickr ^_^ a Mushie matchbox filled with kawaii stickers and a monkey pin

She also send me some Japanese sweets and 5 adorable postcards from my favorite Illustrator.


I'm definitely going to frame this postcards , they're from Catalina Estrada a Super Designer and Illustrator, love her work , She's Colombian but resides in Spain now, she has design adds and products for Coca-cola and Nike and other famous brands ^_^, I'm in love with her illustrations ans work , check her web page to see a sample of her enormous talent.

Well I'm going now, because I'm sewing a big motorcycle bag for my hubby I'll tell you more of that in another post :)

It's a little hot today, It's almost 10:30 and my head is starting to hurt, I not very comfortable in hot weather, I love to sew and when it gets too hot is impossible to sit in one place and concentrate.
Anyway I hope you're having better weather over there :)

I've been painting lately, suddenly I've been having lots of inspiration maybe because I need to practice for some interesting art projects :), Here are 2 matchboxes I painted, i hope you like them :)



oh! bunny :), I choose to paint bunnies because I want to use these in upcoming swaps and a cute bunny suits the theme for this month.



One pink and the other purple :), I used acrylics and glitter to give the clouds a little texture, they measure 3" tall and 2.5 wide



I also wanted to paint a blue one but I run out of boxes, I recycle them from my gastritis prescription lol I have to take 2 pills daily so I end up with a lot of empty boxes :) I prefer to decorate them instead of making more garbage.



And look at the goodies I got form the :Super kawaii Swap :: a private swap at Swap-bot, my partner Drewzel knows how to please a kawaii maniac like me, loved everything specially the cram cream deco-tape and the elephant stationery.

Happy Friday everyone! I hope you had a very productive week, mine was a little hectic because I'm finishing and adjusting a lot of things that were sitting around on my to-do list, I wont be around here this weekend because I'm going to format and Install a new OS in my desktop computer and I will be busy backing up info and installing software.
In other news you can see the new look X_X It seems that LJ disabled my "personal theme" and If I want it back I have to pay the account again, and since I haven't been very happy with LJ , I decided that I will syndicate it from another blog , I will tell you witch one later.

Passing to more pleasant things, I got the most lovely surprise in my mail the other day ^_^

And Yes!! Today is ::PTF:: Paper Toy Friday and I have this classic Nintendo Mushie that Everyone likes!


- Toad - Was really easy to make a total of 16 minutes,He's body parts are very simple and not as small as other paper toys, so you won't have a hard time with his pieces. This is a great Paper Toy for kids!
I found him about a year ago in a Japanese Website, but that site is down now :( but the credits are in the cutting sheet :).

Hello! Can't wait to read what you've done over the weekend it is always fun to read your adventures lol I am all giddy right now because Willy is coming home today, I have to pick him up at the airport at eleven, I sure missed him :).
This weekend I was very busy with a lot of pending projects, but instead of work on them I made us some new Place mats,Potholders and Coasters because the ones we had were old yucky and ugly and because I had to keep me busy until Willy's return lol



So I was at the Fabric Store when I saw this big roll of Fabric?? no, Plastic, usually this plastic is used to make table cloths, I like the texture because it was like my old place mats, so I got four Yards :).

First I draw the shape of my place mat in an old-used cereal box, then with m X-acto knife and scissors I cut the shape and the seam allowance, after that I traced the shaped cardboard on the plastic, I cut the shape and glue the seam allowance so it would be easy to me to sew them ( this is the equivalent to pressing the seam allowance in fabric)then I just put together two pieces with a medium stitch and All Done!! ^_^



As you can see I am very happy with the result , now I am curious of what more can I make with that wonderful plastic, maybe some little baggies for treats and swaps? I will try and make some of those because I saw at the store a wide selection nice plastic with different designs on them.



I mostly like this material because it is very easy to clean and it last forever, there very useful when you have a family like mine lol

WOW!!

How was your Christmas? Mine was pretty awesome !! I ate a lot and had a great time with my mom and brother, I will post some really cool gifts in other post :) you will looooove them!

I am trying to relax and have some time away from the computer, but it's really hard sometimes, I always get inspiration and want to work work work, but I am very tired and do need a little vacation.

In other news - I'm soo behind on sending your X-mas surprise cards and goodies X_X to ALL MY LJ AND FLICKR FRIENDS ( specially Ninna and Cristina Flor de sol), I think you will get them early next month ( or year ^_^ 2007), lol It's been so hectic and now I'm preparing for my new years eve dinner.

Here are the goodies I have send recently ( 2 weeks ago), please do let me know when you get them Lili and Marianne, Shiyu already got hers :), I don't want them to be lost, there big boxes and there a big temptation ofr people and customs.


I made this Special stocking for the X-mas Pop Culture Swap ^_^ I hope she likes all the kawaii goodies that i put in there like candy,pencils,stamps,little plushies etc , I like how it turned out, sorry for the bad picture but it was very late when i finish it.

Well I have to admit that I've been quite sad over the weekend because of that incident with the buttons, but I really don't want to talk about that again X_X I hope I don't receive more hate mail :(.

Anyways , to make things a little less depressing, here are some of the Lovely Surprises I've received lately --->

I received this wonderful Surprise Birthday present from my friend Ninna pigeon_master, Oh! Thank You Ninna :) I like and love everything you send , love the my melody face cloth!! and the mirror is soo cute + useful!! thanks a bunch!!

She also made this lovely Ornament ^_^ that I'm gonna hang today in my tree, Yay!! for Ninna she makes the cutest things.


And this one comes all the way from Singapore, from the lovely

she send me some fabrics and other creaft materials along with kawaii stationary,candy and precious Deco-Tapes :)
This package is a very complete package, Thank You Shiyu!! I really love the purple fabric the stars are really cute!!

Love the deco-tapes also and the loose die cut memos are THE BEST!

Better get going I still have to finish and mail a Big package, I'll tell you all about it in my next post.

Hello my crafty ladies ^_^, I hope you all had a nice weekend, here it's been so windy and super dry weird weather were having here in Cali.

Just a quicky goodie post before I get back to work, I still have lots of goodie pics to show you from swaps and surprise care packages i've been receiving.

Yesterday I had a lot of fun shopping for fabrics, I found the cutest and coolest fabrics I ever seen in Tijuana 0_0, In a Wholesale Textile Warehouse, I wanted to post some pictures but those guys didn't let me take any because of their politics X_X, they only sell to fabric stores but I got a wholesale permit in Tijuana so they let me in ^_^, some of the fabrics were dirty and without protective plastic X_X but still I found things that I haven't found in fabric stores.

I loved the goodies that Ann Disaster send me from Amsterdam, she made the cutest plushie and a really cool pencil case ^_^, she also send me some kawaii memos,deco-tape,RUBY GLOOM stationary ^_^ and a star mold for pancakes and eggs, can wait to use that one.
