You'll probably know, by simply knowing me, that I currently work for Riding Lights Theatre Company. Riding Lights Theatre Company is one of the most productive independent theatre companies in the UK. It takes theatre into the heart of the community - to schools, churches, prisons - basically anywhere that calls, and in many instances, places where theatre itself is rare.
As we receive no government funding, Riding Lights is kept in operation by the support of our amazing Members. Members are fabulous people who support us with regular donations of any size. But in September, we're trying to raise money to create four or more new shows by 2012. One for schools, one for prisons, one for churches and one for mainstream theatres.
Our big fundraising weekend is taking place on 12th-13th September, and is called The Sky's The Limit. As part of this, I'm going to be taking part in a 24 Hour Improthon. This is taking place at Friargate Theatre in York (the home of Riding Lights!) from 17:00 on Friday 11th September, until 17:00 on Saturday 12th. I'll be participating in 10 out of the 24 performance filled hours of madness. Think I can do it? Then please think about supporting me (and if you do, please Gift Aid if you can!) I'm hoping to raise £100.00, and I'd love to break that, but I need your help! If you're not familiar with Impro, think a 24 hour long episode of Whose Line Is It Anyway?, since most people have seen at least one episode of that in the past!
You can also watch part of this event. All being well, the whole 24 hours will be streamed online live (I'll let you know where nearer the time), and you can also come and watch 2 public shows, one on the Friday from 19:30-21:30, and one on Saturday from 15:00-17:00. I'll be performing in the Saturday show which ends the whole event, and I'd love to see you there. Tickets are £5.00 and you can call me on the Box Office line on 01904 613000 to book ahead, or just turn up on the door.
I know it's very unlikely that any of you would be able to be there in person, since you're all spread mostly overseas, but do think about watching a bit of the streaming. As things stand at the moment, I'm probably going to be performing from 04:00-17:00 GMT on Saturday 12th September.

Do, and I'll love you more than I already do. Which if you're reading this still is probably a lot!
