cholesterol: 240 (good: 70, bad: 140). had unlimited champagne brunch with shane and darwin and josh at tre. gallery-hopped in chelsea (the zhang huan exhibits at pacewildenstein were the best). disco-napped. met johnny and paul at relish for dinner before going to johnny's chris's housewarming party on the edge of greenpoint. incredible place with a backyard that smelled like fire island. bar-hopped to sugarland, metro, and back to sugarland with johnny. subwayed it back to manhattan and met up with darwin and shane at boiler (josh's alex and her fiancee were there at the same time) and eastern bloc (the saturday night dj needs to get fired). walked home very sad and angry for a certain reason.

there was rain. all day. and banh mi. all day. and bms. all day. and johnny came over to watch 'the real world: hollywood.' and then paul joined us for pho. and then i met shane for chris's birthday get-together at excelsior. and barbara and jeff and karla and will and nicole and doug and randy and more of all those guys were there. and it was fun. and then i went home. and there was rain.

emailed him about it in the morning. tried a #1 banh mi at the other saigon place and noticed they have more meat on theirs. dropped off a check at my old work cuz of an error on their part (and to top it all off i heard some major shit finally hit the fan there), and then walked down to battery park, spotting a brown-haired uma thurman (nyc celebrity sighting #275) filming a scene from 'motherhood' on the corner of christopher and bedford. watched 'speed racer has a blowout' (which has more heart than 'iron man' and as much satisfyingly fanboy speed/violence/color as 'transformers'). waited at the bar at chevy's for mike and we gobbled down chicken tacos while talking family, friends, and fun. walked back to his place where we watched 'sordid lives' (yay!) and when i got home i had a response email in my inbox. also, the california supreme court overturned the same-sex marriage ban.

they're building a building near the empire state that ruins the view of it from down my street. ate a MEATBALL banh mi from the place one block away from me, also called saigon... AND IT WAS SO GOOD. felt fat and lazy and computered all day long. johnny came over and we watched the fat one win 'america's next top model,' the vagina one lose 'american idol,' and one of the flame-headed ones lose 'top chef.' suddenly steampunk is everywhere?

woke up late. had late lunch at benny's by myself and then passed out on the queer pier. walked home down along the hudson and back up through tribeca. watched the final three bore the shit out of 'american idol' and vh1's fantastic 'sex: the revolution' episode on the '60s.

braved the windy rainy shit weather to get blood drawn for cholesterol test amongst others. dealt with more financial aid shit at home. ate #1 banh mi but read here's an even better one a block south? met darwin and josh for dinner at loreley and then darwin came over and shane met us for 'gossip girl' (any episode after last week's stunning achievement was destined to underwhelm) and the semi-finals of 'dancing with the stars.' chatted with j-poo's hot friend on facebook about things. jimmy fallon is officially taking over for conan and was on his show to celebrate it.

called jutta to wish her a happy mother's day (mutti's boyf by the sea had a stroke). went outside only to get #1 banh mi, $.60 cha siu bao, and diet pepsi. watched 'saturday night live' with shia labeouf (yes. NO!), 'raiders of the lost ark (last time i saw it was when i was a kid who didn't understand anything but that it was scary), and, when darwin and shane came over, multiple episodes of 'man vs wild' and 'absolutely fabulous.' napped a lot. cried during 'extreme makeover: home edition' as always and watched a boring person win 'survivor: fans vs favorites.' thought about the bullshit from over the weekend even more.

thought about things. had dim sum at that escalator place with darwin and johnny. we sat in front of balthazar drinking coffee and as we people-watched we saw photog terry richardson (whom i saw earlier this week) at another bench and huge-haired 'sopranos' star michael imperioli (nyc celebrity sighting #274) on the phone leaving the restaurant. went as darwin's guest to the moma for the design and the elastic mind exhibit and another one about lights. the web wasn't open yet so we walked through central park and window-shopped at the time warner center. went home and josh and daniel came over for drinks before we met up with darwin and shane for mr. black. danced, got a drink ticket from kingdom, danced more, gave kingdom a kiss on the cheek, danced with several drag queens, and walked home.

rain. financal aid application. ma po tofu and postickers from the corner ($4.50 total). tv (barbara walters's 'audition' is everywhere? i should get it?). johnny and ming came over for 'step it up and dance' and rick steves in paris. chatted with a hot friend of j-poo's for like an hour on facebook late at night. could only sleep for like 3 hours, i was so traumatized.

chatted with mamita on the phone about her health and well being. met with my financial adviser and got scared. witnessed a car crash and got even more scared. played solitaire on my ipod to zone out. jogged softly to not re-irritate my leg. johnny came over to watch joey go into rehab on 'the real world: hollywood' and amanda take a backseat editing the first issue of the year on 'the paper.' then went with johnny to meet a friend of a friend of his for a bon voyage party at julius that got relocated to duplex and then to pieces but then we left cuz there was too much coke getting snorted by too many members of the party who kept getting us ejected by going two-by-two into the bathrooms to the rightful anger of bar management. came home to find that a hot friend of j-poo's had facebook-chatted me out of nowhere while i was gone, as had a hot friend of thomas's.

took two math placement tests on campus (my first tests since, like, 2001!) and placed into calculus but decided to take pre-calculus anyway to make sure my foundations are solid. took in the sun on the quad in between appointments. met my adviser and registered for summer and fall classes. applied for housing. my leg hurts a bit still from the 7-mile run on sunday. darwin, shane, paul, and i all got a booth at cafe habana really fast for dinner, surprisingly. the corn there isn't as good as at la esquina but the cubano is yummy. we stopped by eastern bloc and phoenix but weren't really in the mood. on my walk home i called jutta and heard some sad news and called carie to talk.

studied galore. linear equations. quadratic equations. functions. graphs. factoring polynomials. trig. logarithms. got distracted by google reader, paris banh mi sandwiches, and my newly sprouting jowls. barbara called to wish me luck. she remembered.

studied on the dumbo waterfront. wore a tank top and shorts. booked jutta a flight to nyc later this month. passed by the unmistakable terry richardson (nyc celebrity sighting #273) walking a cute german shepard up bowery on my way home from whole foods. johnny and darwin and shane and ming all came over to eat la esquina and drink margaritas and beer for cinco de mayo, and to watch 'gossip girl' officially trump 'the hills.' we rewound the last scene where s told b she killed someone, like, four times, screaming each time like it was the first. it was no surprise that the brother is the gay.

ate unlimited champagne shit at bone lick park with josh. johnny, brendan from my old job, kornel, and mamita's brother all passed by at some point. passed out on the queer pier with clones all around. walked home and passed out s'more. jogged 7 miles to and from greenpoint. stayed up late watching televisions and studying books.
