Hey, question for you cosplay and doll-making types.

I'm making a stuffed animal out of this white fleece stuff and I need to give it like pink blush cheeks. I thought about using actual makeup but (1) I don't think I own blush and (2) I don't want it to smudge all over. So now I'm thinking like dilute some water-based paint and cotton-ball it on. But I don't want it to be like scratchy to the touch. Recommendations?

Aaaaghh I spent half of today looking at jobs and apartments and such in other places that I'm not going to because I can't afford to just randomly go somewhere. Urge to go back to school rising again. However the oppositional force of not wanting to go even more into debt is pretty much enough to counter it and so here I am. My job skills are too goddamn specialized.

With birthday money from my parents I bought expensive lavender-with-silver-glitter eyeshadow and a brush to apply it with. It's a bit silly but it makes me happy to have it. Reminds me of some sort of fairy dust in its little silver jar. I want to get another, more obnoxious color now, but I'm not sure what would look good. Something green is what I think I want.

I keep having the urge to go to that karaoke place. What the fuck.

Also, that sunburn I mentioned last time? Second degree burns. THIS IS WHY I DO NOT GO OUTSIDE.

I am way WAY too excited about the new inscription profession that is going to be added to WoW in the next expansion. There's almost zero useful info in the alpha build yet, but what there is makes me giddy. Grinding up herbs to make inks, scrolls, magical writing to modify your spells or do random aesthetic effects... best profession ever?? Fuck enchanting, I'm glad I've kept useless mining on my warlock all this time! My plan is to drop mining for herbalism right before the expansion, then gather herbs while leveling to 80, and drop herbalism at 80 to power level inscription. My druid can once again be my herb-picking bitch once I have time to level him up too.

P.S. We killed Brutallus, finally, hooray! Now to kill Felmyst for our first server-first since fucking Hydross and Lurker last year... I did this wacky affliction/ruin spec for the 5% less damage debuff and it was actually way more fun and challenging than my usual "stand still and hit 4 a lot in rapid succession" spec. Less damage output but much harder to do well. /flex

P.P.S. I went kayaking on Saturday and somehow forgot to put sunscreen on my calves and OH GOD IT HURTS.

I am seriously considering getting myself a tattoo for my birthday. On my foot. Which is supposed to hurt the most but whatever. I don't think the one I want on my forearm is a good idea for a first tattoo (highly visible and big!) and at least it's summer so I can reasonably wear sandals for a few months to let my foot heal and such. Good idea/bad idea?

Also today I am sending my resume and associated paraphernalia to apply for a job that I REALLY REALLY want. Like SO BAD. If you have a preferred deity whom you sometimes speak to, put in a good word. We're talking dream job here (okay, short of "independently wealthy" and similar). I'll go into more detail once they hire me/fail to hire me.

So yesterday I finally called to make an appointment for a haircut. I haven't been able to see through my bangs very well for a couple weeks now, but the place that my hairdresser (I refuse to call her a "stylist" because while she does nice things to my hair, I am not exactly someone who gets styled) started working for charges me way more for her services than her old place, so I tend to wait as long as I can between haircuts and end up looking like some shaggy thing in the meantime. I'm always amazed by how much better I look and/or feel after I finally go, but then next time the "Oh god I don't have $80 to spare every month or two" kicks back in and I wait and wait. It wasn't so bad when I didn't have bangs, but now, it's pretty bad. In the past week it went from "in my eyes and sort of cute" to "hmm I can't really see anymore and this just looks like a grown-out mess." So I called. And apparently she's on vacation, and somehow booked until the end of the month once she gets back. So I won't be able to see until June 26th! Good thing I have absolutely no plans this month. But I will have a cute haircut for my birthday! ...which means nothing since I don't do anything on my birthday. At least it's a Saturday this year so I don't have to be an emotional wreck at work all day.

I miss Metallica. Yesterday my coworkers were both out so I was alone in our shared office and I was playing Live Shit: Binge and Purge on loop all day and it was awesome. Apparently the only two US shows they're doing this summer are in Tennessee and Dallas. Bastards. I would probably go so far as to take the train to Jersey to see them with Steve and Co. if there was a real tour coming up.

I have procured Rock Band finally, but busy times in WoW means I haven't been able to play much. The character creator is dangerously detailed. Also it's sort of hard to find good breathing pauses towards the end of "Still Alive."

I had a meeting to go to today and I kept thinking about making a rocking out Fidel Castro.

Also I guess you can make bands or something and I wonder if anyone has made I'll Bring The Beards yet.

Damn kids.

We are now on Illidan, the last boss in the game (for now, of course; there's a patch on the test realm that will introduce a new dungeon with six new bosses in a month or two). To think that I was really emo after the holiday break when we lost about six regular raiders and had to recruit scrubs and teach them all the stuff we already know, etc. It's turned out rather well, though.

P.S. In case anyone was wondering, Chris is supposedly okay. They did a bunch of tests and didn't find anything major, so they told him to take ibuprofen three times a day for pain/inflammation.

1. Chris is currently at the emergency room having lots of tests done because he had weird chest pains this week and then yesterday his stomach started hurting a lot, so he called my doctor's office today for an appointment and they told him to just go there. Sigh.

2. It's snowing and I'm at work and will take forever to get home even once I can leave.

3. I keep listening to the new (relatively speaking) Manson album and I really like it despite there being someonething missing and I'm not sure if I should feel guilty about this or whatever. To think I had given up hope.

5. I really want to bleach the underneath of my hair and keep the top brown/black but I fear I'm not nearly cool enough to pull this off.
