The Colour Blue
Blue.
First colour that Lee ever really saw was the colour blue only because it was the colour of his mother's eyes. The same eyes that gazed down at him with such love and adoration and shimmered with the tears that had yet to fall.
Blue was the first and only colour that Lee Adama had cared about. He hadn't been able to comprehend anything at such a young age, couldn't understand that it was his mother's eyes who looked at him in that way but as time went on, he started to understand.
Throughout his childhood, his mother would look at him with those eyes of hers and he always found himself looking back, wanting to know everything she had to teach him. They say that the eyes are the window to the soul and Lee wouldn't argue, he saw almost everything of his mother in those blue eyes of hers. He could see the beautiful person that she was.
He can remember the way his mother looked at his father, his first glimpse of what love truly was. His mother's eyes never hid anything; they were always so open and so full of life. They sparkled and they seemed to reflect her smile.
Blue was the one colour that Lee would always value and appreciate above everything else because blue was the colour of his mother's eyes. And now, when he looks in the mirror, he sees the same blue reflected back at him and he knows that no matter what, he's always got a part of his mother with him.
No matter what, he'll never forget and he'll always remember because he has that colour right there to remind him.
