Who am I?
I am an artist, a scientist, a feeler, an analyst, quiet, a chatterbox, shy, outgoing, caring, wacky, scornful of the status quo, a hopeless romantic... I'm very much a bundle of paradoxes.
I recently graduated from a women's college in the South with a BA in religious studies and modern languages. My primary language was French, with my secondary being Italian and my tertiary was Spanish. I've lived in Atlanta, New York, London, Houston, and Paris. I love to travel.
I'm a huge nerd and bookworm. My bookshelves are overflowing with science fiction, women's studies, medieval studies, GLBTQ studies, and miscellaneous assorted others. I love all films, blockbusters to indie flicks. I'm a huge fan of Italian, Greek, and French cuisines.
I'm into synchronized swimming. I love to kayak, bike, hike, and take long walks. I love the mountains and the beach equally. I'm a city girl with a deep love of nature.
A museum is a sure way to win me over.
I'm a gay rights advocate, women's rights activist, pro-choice, and much more - but unless questioned on these things, I tend keep my opinions to myself (be warned, though: this is my journal, so you may hear occasional rants on topics of my choice). I'm also always open to discussion or a good debate - I was raised by a lawyer and a historian so I like to consider myself well-versed in the oratorical arts.
I play several instruments and have a strange fascination with medieval music (I own several recorders and play them well). I like to sing bad karaoke (it's a terrible vice!). I quietly obsess over plotting my eventual return to Paris. I have one crazy demon-kitty named Pumpkin who is one of the few things to have escaped my apartment fire intact; he thinks he's a tiger, but really, he's just a furball.
I own and run my own art business in addition to temp work. BUY MY ART!!! Okay, just check it out. I have some nice stuff on there, and most of it is available as magnets and mousepads, etc. If you just want to look at my gallery of overall artwork and poetry, look here. Most of the artwork featured on here is for sale. I'm a shameless self-promoter, but how else am I going to sell my artwork?
