I was on the blogthings site and clicked on the What Modern President Are You Most Like? quiz. Somehow I disagree with it... I wouldn't puke on the Prime Minister of Japan!

You Are Most Like George H. W. Bush

You're considered boring by people that don't know you well. But like Bush senior, you do crazy things.
Maybe you'll end up banning broccoli in your house, or puking on the Prime Minster of Japan!

You Are An ISTJ

The Duty Fulfiller

You are responsible, reliable, and hardworking - you get the job done.

You prefer productive hobbies, like woodworking or knittings.

Quiet and serious, you are well prepared for whatever life hands you.

Conservative and down-to-earth, you hardly ever do anything crazy.

You would make a great business executive, accountant, or lawyer.

You Are New York

Cosmopolitan and sophisticated, you enjoy the newest in food, art, and culture.
You also appreciate a good amount of grit - and very little shocks you.
You're competitive, driven, and very likely to succeed.

Famous people from New York: Sarah Michelle Gellar, Tupac Shakur, Woody Allen

You may remember from my last post that Joe and I had to go shopping for more flip flops. We did and discovered the BEST sale at Old Navy. I bought 3 shirts for $1.50 each and a pair of jeans for $5. Joe went all out and got 2 pair of flip flops, 2 polo shirts, 2 t-shirts, 2 mesh work-out shirts, and a pair of cargo shorts for $35. Best Sale Ever.

After shopping we went to a going-away/birthday party for one of Joe's co-workers, and afterwards watched Aeon Flux.

Happy Birthday Bebe!!!

Urban Adventures

I just had to write and tell the world how GOOD Cornish Pastys are. Fabulous. Wonderful. Amazing Bangers and Mash Cornish Pastys. I'm moving to England, that's how good they are. We went out last night to try something new, found Cornish Pasty Co., ate, tried to go to a movie, then came home. Our efforts to see a movie were foiled by a blinking road sign thingy in the parking lot. Joey triped on it and his flip flop gave out. How he didn't see it and tripped I'll never know. He wouldn't admit to being defeated by a road block in his own journal, so I had to write about it. We had a good laugh, though. Fun times. Now we have to go shopping for more flip flops.

Research Stuff

Nov. 8th, 2005 | 04:37 pm
mood: happy happy

So, I took the research position. They gave me a choice between being everyones' lab grunt, or to do research that I could get published by the end of next semester. I think it's obvious which one I chose. I'm going to do data compiling for a project in which they are trying to prove that a common test in ecotoxicology research is ineffective. The outcome has some pretty big implications for government which passes laws and things based on this test. I'm pretty excited...mainly because I could get published before Joey. Just Kidding:)

Salamanders

Oct. 29th, 2005 | 02:38 pm

I recently was offered a research internship studying salamanders and their viral attackers. Apparently, amphibian populations are in rapid decline. Their deaths are offsetting whole ecosystems and many are feared to go extinct. I'm going to be studying the virus responsible for killing salamanders in northern Arizona. The same virus has been found in other areas. I'm so excited! Here are a few little known facts about salamanders:

1. They are cannibalistic.
2. They'll eat their friends but not family.
3. They have special salamander sense.
4. They have magical powers.

Later, I'll add more about my new slimy friends.

Hooray!

Sep. 17th, 2005 | 10:45 pm
mood: busy busy
music: bean-y music

I'm currently poking at a tea bag while listening to some live music at the X-treme-y bean-y and studying. Joe and I are having a productive saturday evening. We've studied all day, with the only break being dinner. Other than that, though, nothing else is goin' on. :(
I finally sold that burden of a van. WOO HOO! $400 in the bank! I thank Mom for letting me keep it at her house...I feel awful that I let it sit there for so long. Now I'm dreaming up ways to spend the cash..iPod maybe?! Or maybe to go towards replacing lowsy first year grades...I think I'd like the iPod better :).
As you all can see I updated my pic. The only reason why I had the moon before is because it was the only 100x100 image I could find. I think riboflavin fits much better with my nerdy persona and my user-name.

PS: Anyone that can give the IUPAC name for riboflavin MIGHT win $10 from Joey...

I have decided to become a doctor instead of doing pure research. I think that I might get bored in the research field and that being a doctor might just be more stimulating. I want to help people on a more personal level. I may eventually go back do wanting to do research. I don't know. But I'm very excited about the possiblities. The sorority thing I wrote about last also fits into these plans for the future.

Religion Test

Jun. 9th, 2005 | 09:04 pm

You scored as agnosticism. You are an agnostic. Though it is generally taken that agnostics neither believe nor disbelieve in God, it is possible to be a theist or atheist in addition to an agnostic. Agnostics don't believe it is possible to prove the existence of God (nor lack thereof).

Agnosticism is a philosophy that God's existence cannot be proven. Some say it is possible to be agnostic and follow a religion; however, one cannot be a devout believer if he or she does not truly believe.

Apparently, I'm more satanist than Christian, which is simply not true!!!! But I'll admit, I'm very agnostic.

End of the year!!! (YAY)

May. 12th, 2005 | 01:39 pm
mood: ecstatic ecstatic

I finished my finals on the 9th. I was SO worried that I failed my chem final and got a D in the class. But I didn't, I got a lovely C. I have never been so excited for a C in my life, normally I'd be disappointed. I'm now at the library on my day off, yee haw! (Just kidding) I'm looking for a good book to read over the summer. I have many summer goals. They are:
1. lose some weight (get rid of that pesky freshman 15)
2. Get closer to Joey
3. Save up money ($2100 or more)
4. Brush up on my French, Chem. and Bio.
5. Get my apartment organized
6. Hang out with friends more
That's the complete list for now. I have a fantastic plan (in reference to #3)!!! I'm going to save up all the money I need for rent and possibly food this summer for next semester. I wont have to work and can concentrate on my studies. Not only that I have a terrible schedule and I can't work. So, not only is this plan fantastic, but it's also very necessary for my survival.
I saw the greatest movie over the weekend. The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is hi-larious. I want to see it again. and again. That's about all I have right now...so..so long and thanks for the fish.
