Movies, Madness and Mayhem...

Figuratively speaking of course.

I went out to a movie last night... Um... "Feels like Heaven". It really was so terribly, terribly cute... I managed not to puke though. Actually, given that you know exactly what's gonna happen before you even walk into the theatre (Twu Wuv, of course!) it wasn't bad. I've seen far worse, and it was definitely the kind of brain fluff that I needed. Didn't really feel up to intellectual stimulation, so it was a choice between "the Exorcism of Emily Rose" and this, and the girl I went with is not a fan of scary movies, so that kind of settled that. Anyway, despite being terribly predictable, it was just the sort of cotton-candy for the mind I was looking for.

Afterwards, the two of us trundled off to brave the transit system at one am on a Friday... All things considered, not too bad, because the bars don't close until two. We were spared any vomit, anyway, which always makes me grateful.

Despite my being small-town, at best, I love the city. Especially at night; there's just something about walking around in the dark, watching the lights... And this is the best time of year for it, when everything's crisp, but not quite cold yet. Soon enough it'll be way too cold to spend more time outside than you absolutely have to-- "True North strong and free" never mentions "frozen", but for accuracy's sake, it really should-- but right now, it's good.

I'll have to do that again, soon. Always better to wander with someone than alone, at least, at night in a dark city. Not that I haven't wandered on my own before, it's just one of the stupider things I've done, wandering downtown in a major city alone in the wee hours is not wise for anyone, particularly us female types who live alone and have no one to realize we should be there... At least I have an identifying tattoo, it's always good to be prepared, right?
