1. Do what you always do to your base to make it nice and pretty. Because mine was rather dark I duplicated it and set the new layer to screen. I then merge+pasted the layers (CTRL+Alt+Shift+E), sharpened it once and set the opacity to 60%. That way, the blurry screencap is sharp, but not oversharpened. Works for me with almost every picture.
2. Add a new colorfil layer in the color #002157 (blue); set to Exclusion; 60%.
3. Another colorfil layer; color #caedfa (light blue/turquoise); set to Burn; 50%.
4. And a last colorfil layer; color #ffe7d2 (cream); set to Soft Light; 30%.
5. Remember the sharpened merged copy of our two base layers? Copy it again and drag it to the top. Now desaturate it (CTRL+U) and move the saturation to around -60 / -80. Hit okay and Gaussian Blur the layer. I think I blurred it by 1 or 2 pixel, whatever you like best. The more you blurr it, the softer the end result will become. This is what this layer looks like now. Set it to Soft Light; 40%. It adds depth and softness to your icon. If you want more depth, just move the opacity down.
6. Now we add the big bad woolf, a Selective Color layer:
Cyans: -83; 0; +100; +48
Grays: -13; 0; +15; 0
Set the opacity to 50%.
7. I then added this texture by vol4itca. Before setting it to screen I rotated it to the left and erased the bit that covered Sam's face. Add this texture UNDERNEATH the Selective Color layer from step 6.
8. Finally, I wanted some text. I chose the font "Gnatfont" which sort of resembles the font used in comics. To make the text stand out more I added an outer glow in a really dark violet. And that's it!! =D

8. Add a Brightness/Contrast layer; brightness: 0, contrast: +17.
9. ANd that's it. As a last step I added text in Arial Black. I used some nice strong colors, played a bit with different rotations and added a dark outer shine. Voilá, you're done.

Alright, so this one's a bit more complicated because I had to work on the picture of Rufus first. Let's see:
1. Dublicate your base and set it to screen. You'd probably have to do this many times so I decided to ....
2. Add a Curves layer:
RGB: IN 97, OUT 168
3. Merge+paste the layers (CTRL+Alt+Shift+E), sharpen it once.
4. I then added a Gradient layer: From #321d01 to #d3cbc8. Set it to Soft Light at 60%.
5. Selective Coloring layer:
Reds: -95, 0, +92, 0
Yellows: -21, +100, -100, 0
Set to 60%.
6. Curves layer:
RED: Point 1: IN 152/ OUT 153; Point 2: IN 105/OUT 90.
7. Selective Coloring layer:
Reds: +8, 0, +100, 0
Yellows: -100, 0, +48, 0
Set to 64%.
8. Add a Colorbalance layer:
Midtones: -38, +2, +16 - Set to 63%.
9. Now merge+paste the layers (CTRL+Alt+Shift+E).
10. This new layer I dragged into a new canvas and hid it by unchecking the little eye in the layer palette.
11. I chose this texture/brush by vol4itca and resized it to fit the 100x100 icon (small texture).
12. Next, I took this filmstrip texture. I have forgotten who made it, so if you recognize this texture, please tell me who I can credit. Just drag it on top of the flowery texture and erase the white on either side so that the texture underneath shows.
13. Pull Rufus (the main picture from step 10.) to the top and cut out the same portion you already erased in the previous step (the white bits) so that you leave a strip in the middle. Like this. Set this layer to screen. Your icon should now look like this - click!. Caution! Make sure that the part you want to show is moved to where the film strip will be.
14. Add a new colorfil layer; #b0a494, set it to Multiply, 60%.
And you're done.

1. Copy the base, set to screen at 60%, merge+copy into a new layer ((CTRL+Alt+Shift+E), sharpen once.
2. New gradient layer (from #321d01 to #d3cbc8), set to Soft Light at 80%.
3. Selective Coloring layer:
Reds: -100, +10, +100, 0
Yellows: -100, +10, -50, 0
Grays: +32, -8, -12, 0
4. Colorbalance layer:
Midtones: +25, -13, +6
Lows: +25, +4, +10
Highs: +10, +2, +5
I added a layer mask and erased the color over Nick's face because he turned out too red for my liking.
5. New Colorfil layer: #d3cbc8; set to Multiply at 80%.
6. New Hue/Saturation layer: Standards - Color: +11 (make sure 'color' is unchecked); set to Soft Light; 53%.
7. Add this light texture by graphic_sl and set it to screen. I rotated it until I liked the result.
8. To add some final (optional) touches I chose a tiny text brush in white and some normal text in the fonts Gill Sans MT Condensed - with outer glow - (my time) and Violation (has come). And that's it.
