Bio

'They say you're the bad guy...'

Real Name: St. John Allerdyce
Code Name: Pyro
Allience: presumed X-Men, but really, unknown.
Origin: Australian
Age: 16
Grade: Sophomore
Class: 20f
Dorm: Dorm Room 12; Bobby Drake (Iceman)

Powers: complete control and manipulation of fire. Ofcourse, he cannot create it, thus is virtually powerless without a source. He cannot be touched by it, either. One could call him 'flame proof'.
Weakness: John is really only afraid of one thing - his lighter being stolen or lost. Its not because of what it is, or any sentimental value it may have. Rather, he's afraid of being powerless. The reason for this is because when he was younger, he was constantly being beaten up for his unusual obsession with fire and couldnt fight back. Well, he did fight back. Eventually. And this was with the help of his famous - or infamous - zippo lighter, which he has to this day. He set the sleeve of the older boy on fire. The boy wasnt killed, just severely burned, but to this day, John hasnt been without that lighter for so much as a second. He insists he owes his life to it.
Skills: its hard to know if John has any skills, because if he does, he doesnt often share them with others. He is good at cooking, and excels in sport, but those couldnt really be described as skills. Rather, hobbies would be a better definition.
Appearance: John's got dark hair, wich is generally slicked back with a strand or two falling into his large, puppy like brown eyes. He is of a slim build stands rather tall, at almost 6'. He doesnt take particular care about what he wears or how he appears to others, generally just throwing on whichever clothes he sees on the back of his chair, but they all seem to involve denim and dark colours.

Personality: the pyromaniac in John seems to overshadow all of his other qualities, usually being passed off as an incurable, fire-obsessed maniac. For the most part, that is true, but, hard to believe as it is, John does have some depth. Some.

John is a very secretive guy, who prefers to keep his mouth shut about things. Well, thats not one hundred percent true. He doesnt mind spilling the beans about secrets that dont involve him, and are someone elses secrets. He's generally more reliable than that, though.

He's not a loner, prefering to be in the company of three or four others. Still, though, he keeps his good friends exclusive and all others can go curl up in a ball and die for all he cares. Although, so could his 'good friends'. He looks after number one, and number two doesnt come into the equation.

Saying this, he isnt a cold guy, persay. Rather, keeps his distance, and not at cost. Its not like he's unpopular, either, there are plenty of students intrigued by his distant nature, intrigued by his obsessive amusement with fire and facinated by his tendancy to switch sides quicker than one can so much as blink.

Which brings to his fear of commitment. At the very thought, John flinches and changes the subject. He doesnt see the point in making promises which, lets face it, will often be broken and the broken promise will often end up hurting people. No point in that, so he just forgets it altogether.

He's a very rash person, acting upon instinct and not on his own opinion. He doesnt think things through, and is the very definition of not looking before he leaps. We saw this when he began 'showing off' outside of the Drakes' household, thus setting fire to almost anything in site. Even though he was provoked, this cannot really be excused.

Belongings and pets: no pets, but his infamous zippo lighter acompanies him wherever he goes.

History: growing up in Sydney, Australia in a wealthy and rather posh family, John was bullied, teased and beaten numerous times over his facination with the flame. Many a time he ended up in hospital due to broken ribs, fractured wrists and other injuries. Perhaps not all were to do with being beaten, because he was, afterall, a very adventurous young boy, but most were. He never did get burned, though, much to his mother's relief.

Despite being quite popular up to high school before he moved to the Institute, John was always rather studious and could be called a nerd, but not by those who did admire him or wished to be aquainted with him. His teachers did like him, when he wasnt setting desks, paper, books, pencils and all else around him on fire. He didnt get into many fights and the only trouble he really caused was the fights others started with him.

Before his powers developed, John was always quite...well, different, for lack of a better expression. He was never really one to fit in with a crowd, no matter if he bothered trying. He didnt really let this bother him, but it must have because of the beatings it caused. He was never ambitious, either, which was known from day one at preschool, when the teacher went around the class, asking what they wanted to be. When she got to John, he answered, "Nothing." plain and simply. His teacher found this amusing, but it came clear, when the brown eyed boy grew older, that "Nothing" was really what he meant. sure, he studied and did well at school, but his answer was still "Nothing."

When he was about eleven, he first saw the film 'Dracula'. That inspired a bundle of short Gothic Romance stories from the boy, all well written and thought out, but his mother didnt like the idea that her son either wanted to be "Nothing." or would end up as a "Good for nothing Romance writer." as she put it. He, however, protested, saying that he'd be a famous novelist like Bram Stoker some day. Despite his mother's protests, he continued to write his stories. They got longer and longer, but he never, ever put an end to one.

The first glimpse of his powers were when he was thirteen. His parents were having a barbacue in the back garden, all of their posh friends and their posh children invited. He was really only there for show, it was always like that. Maybe it wasnt so much his mother, but his parents let him do whatever he wanted, so long as he was there when their friends were around so he could look good and tell them how well he was doing. Anyway, that evening, the barbacue was accidentally left on while his parents were saying their goodbyes to their friends, and for some reason, it ignited again and a nearby bush caught fire. It spread rapidly towards the house, and John was at the nearest window. He'd gone inside because of a huge headache, and as soon as the fire caught his eye, he felt more scared than he'd ever felt before, or indeed, since, and, feeling a sharp pang of pain, he felt his hand reach out, hitting the glass on the window hard, and the fire suddenly grew smaller in size and ended up putting itself out. His mother noticed it, and only later did she make the connection between her son and the fire.

And the rest is history, as they say. When it was time for him to go to high school, his mother searched for a school to send him to, for 'his kind' as his father put it, and when they found out it was in America, they jumped for joy. Literally. They hadnt been very understanding about their son's differences, and since getting to the school, John hasnt heard a word from them. He doesnt mind too much - there was only so much of pretending to be the perfect son for their friends he could take. Since then, he's changed majorly. Too used to knowing no barriers, Pyro doesnt like anything to be in his way of what he's doing. Ofcourse, the boy hasnt told anyone at the Institute about his past. He never would.

(I am not St. John Allerdyce (Pyro) or Aaron Stanford. Sorry to dissapoint. This is a rp journal.)
