Shadows Return
I've finished reading Shadows Return.

1. WTF with 300 pages of slavery and torture and not even knowing if the other one is still alive somewhere?!!!

Hurt makes good comfort, but this is way past my limits. What came after was good, but I would have enjoyed it more after only 100 pages of that stuff. Here, I was just too appalled to react.

And Alec's death, even though obviously momentary, angered me. After 300 pages of horrors, he clearly didn't need that! *huggles Alec*

2. Ilar: I knew that was one of the pending issues with Alec's prophecy, but I totally didn't see it coming. I thought that Zoriel was the one loyal to Yhakobin and that Khenir was a friend. Rhania rocked, by the way.

Ilar is as much of a bastard as Yhakobin, but just like Seregil, I can't really hate him. Though I find him extremely annoying when he keeps hitting on Seregil and on Alec. They can have a threesome with Micum if they want to, and Ilar can just go the fuck away! Well, that's what he did, anyway.

3. Sebrahn: Finally, something good to say! I love the little guy. *pokes Seregil for distrusting him and being jealous*

And look, [info]blue_phlox drew a gorgeous Sebrahn fanart.

I'm looking forward to what he'll do in The White Road. And hopefully I'll love that book as much as the first three.

1. Well Seregil did realize that Alec was alive once he saw him outside the window but it took them forever to reunite. I agree that the torture went on way too long and Alec's treatment was awful. I wasn't too upset when Alec died because ever since Sebrahn showed up I was expecting him to do something magically awesome so I expected him to save Alec when he died.

2. I can't hate Ilar either. Given all that he's been through so I feel sorry for him. I was expecting him to die doing something heroic, like saving Seregil because he seems like the type of hateful, cowardly character that wins everyone over at the end when they sacrifice themselves. I still think that he's going to do something heroic later on and win everyone's sympathy and add more angst to Seregil's life.

They can have a threesome with Micum if they want to
I'd toss Thero in there too. Actually the Thero, Micum and tub scene made me ship them a little. I'm so weak. XD

3. Love Sebrahn. I was expecting him to die too, saving Alec and Seregil. But it seems like there's much more to him since he could be a dragon! Alec should be so proud of his baby!

Overall I wasn't as impressed with it as I was with the first three. It may have been because they were both in captivity and there's only so much that you can write about from their perspectives. My favorite parts were with Micum and Thero since they were nightrunning. I need more action and adventure. Also more S/A smut. I know Lynn's been shy about it but seeing the fans begging for more loving between the boys, I hope she adds some in later.

1. I thought for a time that she would leave Alec dead until the next volume. *shivers* At least, she didn't do that.

2. That was a much needed break when she finally added some Micum & Thero scenes in the middle of all the torture.

3. Yes, I was worried for Sebrahn, especially considering the first rhekaro was killed. It's so cool that he might be a dragon. <3

People commented on Amazon that, since the book was much shorter, the plot wasn't intricate like in the previous books. But I think the main problem is that she uses 300 pages for the torture, and there's only so much you can develop in the last 100 pages of a book. And yes, the boys deserved some smut at the end!

Also, someone commented that it wasn't as rich in terms of linguistics, and I hadn't noticed before reading that comment, but it's true that I had difficulty reading the first three and I didn't here. On the contrary, some people say that her style has improved with the Tamir trilogy, but I don't see it.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY~!!! *huggles*

..... I still haven't finished NR yet. T_T; It seems that every time I get to a certain guy...I-forget-his-name... I suddenly loose interest and need to force myself to read again. *nods*

BUT I HOPE YOU HAVE A GREAT BIRTHDAY~! Lots of porn for you? Yea?

1. I completely agree that it was so frustrating to see Seregil and Alec spend so much time apart. And as much as I love me some character angst and torture I have my limits and they didn't have the great sex that makes it all worthwhile ;_;

2. I wasn't really expecting Ilar although it was well done. And I think that he'll be around in book five. I think to cause trouble although I guess we can't really predict it.

3. Sebrahn is made of intriguingness! Like why does he only seem to talk to Seregil? (Well I guess it's when Alec's in trouble but still.) And if he becomes more 'faie, how? Hopefully not at Alec's expense! Also I was wondering if he would make Klia's hand all better, but then someone said that wouldn't that have fixed Ilar when healing the slave brands. I say no because he doesn't like him or had no reason to but I'm not sure if his ability is selective or not. Speaking of I wonder if the scars from book one would have disappeared or not..

Heh, clearly there is the most to say about the newest character!

I was happy to see Micum in this book since he didn't get to do much in book three.

1. Yes, they didn't even have hot comfort sex at the end! *pouts*

2. He could be dead too.

3. Oh, another thing that was awful: Yhakobin taking the human out of Alec. *huggles Alec* For me, Sebrahn's flowers only heal the body part on which they're put, not the whole body, so I never thought of him healing Ilar. The man hits on people enough without his manly bits, he doesn't need them back.

That's because Sebrahn's adorable, although he wasn't exactly described as such, the poor little guy. Have you seen the fanart? So pretty! :-)

Micum rocks! ^__^

1. And the hot comfort sex is what would have made it bearable.

2. He could be dead but I don't think so. We shall see next year though.

3. It was horrid taking the human out of Alec. At least it seems like it should just be a temp thing. Hopefully! That's why it worries me, a little, how Sebrahn is becoming more 'faie.. *shrugs* But good point about the place of the flowers.

The fanart is delightful!

Micum does rock, even if he's not quite as active as he used to be. That's why Thero was there.

That wouldn't have erased all the torture, but they really, really deserved some action. <3

Micum was quite put in the hightlight. Usually, he appears with Seregil and Alec, who always steal all the attention. Being with Thero made him the most awesome one. I loved when he was hitting on the girl like whoa and Thero was all: WTF, is this why your wife doesn't want you away from home? XDDD
