I know the common products are Elmer's Glue and Got2B hair products, but recently saw an interview where a girl said she sometimes used industrial strength tile caulk sealant to style wigs (original link)! The new hotel was wonderful and I was so happy to be able to cosplay with my midwest/Canadian friends again!
