Lol this is pretty awesome! Everything seems to fit into the "HMS Serapis" theme. The names I came up with are possibly the people on board the ship. Track 07 could apply to navigation as well. Tracks 02, 06, 09 and 10 can be some sort of tribute to the weirdness of TOOL. Track 14 could be like the ending destination of the ship (although how a ship can fit into a creek remains to be seen). Awesome selection! I love this. Lol and also as a play on the "band name", the names I fond could belong to the Rotters Club too.
At the bookstore, I make a beeline for the Fiction section and choose books either by cover art or by the summary. An example of the former is Chuck Palahniuk’s “Haunted”, which had the face of a wide-eyed, open-mouthed woman plastered on the front along with the familiar black-and-white “Parental Advisory” sign. For the latter, I go through my favorite authors’ books and pick the most appealing summary among all of them. Since I have a tendency to devour even their lamest book simply because it’s their work, I run out of reading material quickly. When I need a change of perspective, I check out novels by modern Japanese authors because they’re usually offbeat and quirky. After exhausting these three methods, I’ll open a couple of my favorite authors’ books and read its reviews. If another author liked the book, I would definitely check out some of his books because we’re probably thinking along the same wavelengths. I’ve tried this a couple of times and ended up enjoying my newfound discoveries.
Definitely goes down as one of my favorite movies ever. I can't wait to see "The Darjeeling Limited" now. :)
( Happy shiny song )
Anyway, as much as I love NIB 2, I try to avoid listening to it. Why? Because
Twice when I listened to the tape (yes, tape) while driving, I got into accidents (I sideswiped a jeep and I bumped a concrete post). The first time, I thought nothing of it. But the second time around, I linked the tape to my propensity for accidents. Added to that I always got honked at or made wrong turns whenever the tape was playing. So I kept it safely tucked away for a year. Seriously! I'm supersitious. I mean, this is Sabbath we're talking about. I would not be surprised if it's some weird portal to another dimension.
Straight to my frustration of the year. Last night, I made the horrible mistake of listening to one of the songs on Youtube - and I mistakenly erased four pages worth of personal messages a forum I'm on. They were from a dear friend too.
Here is a link to the song, if you're interested. It's one of the awesomest rock songs ever.

I did some research and found out that Huo Yuanjia is actually a real person and the movie was loosely based around his life! Isn't that amazing.
This goes down as one of my favorite movies ever! I love the morals preached here. :P
Shocked...the Minneapolis bridge collapse earlier this evening. I'm praying there aren't anymore casualties. So far there are 6. The news reports around 30-50 cars were on the bridge when it gave way. It's been one of my greatest fears to have a bridge collapse under me while I'm crossing it. I'm thankful for all the brave people rescuing the victims now...
These puzzles sidetrack me from my writing! :P

I made a new fanfic community called '10settings'. Problem is, I'm really bad at layout and html, so I'm looking for a co-moderator who can, aside from co-modding (duh) do the 'dirty job' of setting up the profile page and accompanying tags. I want the page set-up in a week or two's time. If you're interested, please drop me a line here. Thank you! :)
Rita, I know you're an expert. Help an old lady out? LOL

You are... 3% unique (blame, for example, your interest in gto live drama) and 19% herdlike (partly because you, like everyone else, enjoy tool). When it comes to friends you are normal. In terms of the way you relate to people, you are keen to please. Your writing style (based on a recent public entry) is conventional.

"A writer writes sentences. A wannabe makes excuses."
Now how's that for inspiration? And you don't have to be a writer to appreciate it. It's universal! If you happen to be, say, a mechanic? Just look in the dictionary to replace the first sentence. It'll look something like, "A mechanic fixes cars. A wannabe makes excuses." A doctor? No problem! "A doctor cures patients. A wannabe makes excuses." And a call center agent? Voila! "A call center agent goes to work. A wannabe makes excuses." The list goes on. So if you find yourself slacking off and pitching a tent over your couch, just remember: do I want to be the next top model? Yes or no, I really don't care because that line made absolutely no sense. (But if you ponder it deeply, it just might. I'm getting into my Lotus position.)

*SQUEEEEAAAAAL!!!*
Situation: We have an old desktop that ran on Windows ME but it was bogged down with viruses, so my mom bought a new desktop. I asked Gary to reformat the hard drive of that old desktop, and he did. After that, I tried booting with the Recovery CD but it wouldn't work. Error messages kept coming up that Windows 98 couldnt start. That in itself was weird because the hard drive wasnt supposed to have anything in it. Anyway, I ordered an Ubuntu CD around 3 weeks ago. and it arrived today. I tried it out but it wouldnt work since my memory was insufficient. I decided to try the Recovery CD again but to no avail. Thoroughly pissed now, I turned off the Pc then turned it on again - and voila, Windows ME started up. I was like, O_O!!! I thought the hard disk was reformatted (meaning NOTHING should be stored there). And now Windows ME starts up?
After my childhood, I never became a fan of TV. I simply couldn't find the utility of spending countless hours watching a show or worse, watching ANY show that happens to catch your fancy. I'd rather read a book or hang out with friends. But that's changed lately. Currently being a homebody, I constantly look for new things or activities to amuse me. I'm partly over "Fish Tycoon", since Ive discovered the 7th and last Magical Fish. Lately I've been watching a lot of movies on television, and here are some of the fantastic finds I've happened on:
1) Fried Green Tomatoes - (1991; Mary Stuart Masterson, Jessica Tandy, Kathy Bates) A bittersweet story of two southern women in the 1930s. Issues such as racism, domestic disputes, wife beating are shown.
I cried BUCKETS towards the end. And strangely enough, the only reason I watched this was because I thought Steve Martin was in it - and I DON'T even like Steve Martin! I always was intrigued by the movie (catchy title) but never watched it.
2) Tombstone (1991; Kurt Russell, Val Kilmer, Bill Paxton, Sam Elliot) Based on the story of US gunfighter Wyatt Earp (Russell), who moves to Tombstone, Arizona with his brothers Virgil (Paxton) and Morgan (Elliot) to retire. He discovers his old friend Doc Holliday (Kilmer) lives there too. The four get involved in a quarrel with the outlaws called "Cowboys" who lawlessly run the town, resulting in the famous shootout at the OK Corral.
What female wouldn't like a movie that portrays gunfighters as good-looking - albeit older- hot guys in trenchcoats? ;p Kidding aside, it was a solid movie with outstanding performances by the cast, especially Kurt Russell ;p And the death scene at the end was depressing. And being the usual crybaby I am, yeah, buckets overflowed again ;p
3) My Heroes Have Always Been Cowboys (1991) - An injured rodeo returns home only to find his father in an old-age home and his childhood sweetheart a widow with two children. He returns to the rodeo to raise money the hard way.
Bull riding. 'Nuff said :)
4) The Scorpion King - (2002, The Rock) Matthias the Akkadian (Rock) leads a ragtag group of rebels against the tyrant Memnon.
This is the only movie in the list that I've already seen. It's always been a favorite for me and Ga. This was one of the few movies we watched on the big screen together. I love the cheesy action and the blatant lack of effort with accents. Seriously! Good action scenes especially by The Rock. Wrestling experience, I guess. AND don't forget, Memnon the tyrant looks like our good friend Benjamin aka B3 :)
The good thing about movies on TV is they play all throughout the month. In a few minutes, "Fried Green Tomatoes" will be showing again. I can't wait for the next showing of "Tombstone." So yeah, if you're looking to give me a gift, just go to the local manong "dibidi, dibidi" vendor and buy me copies.
