Against a Memory

Because, dude, not every story has its happily ever after ending.

So... in a month I have:

- got a scholarship. I'm a Fulbright grantee on the official making. :)
- been admitted to ODU, VA for my Master's degree.
- been broke due to the preparation for the two points above
- been taking several medical tests, including an HIV test. *le gasp*
- reduced the total amount of my weekly work, and boy does that feel good.
- have been on a sentimental track, listening heartache music and reading melancholic books to mope.
- been infatuated by one Miss Dianna Agron and disappointed by Glee.
- written two fics in just three days. Not that it's an achievement, but still. It's a comeback for me.

I've never been this excited as well as terrified all my life!

So after a long time of hiatus slash slothing, I finally write again. Suprisingly, it's Glee who brings me the will. Or rather, Quinn Fabray. So here you go, folks.

I went to Singapore to watch Death Cab for Cutie's Codes and Keys concert on March 7. The venue, Fort Canning Park, was a kind of challenge myself, giving it a hike before you could reach the slope where the concert was held. The crowd was partially lukewarm... and very tempered by the discipline that makes Singapore Singapore. That, except a small group of students who kept pushing its way to the front even though they came late and had tall postures. When one of them said to her friend, "Stop pushing me," I shot back, "Stop pushing yourself." Yeah, wankers. yeah.

But oh boy. Ben Gibbard. Ben frikkin' Gibbard. You are one topnotch modern poet. Or prophet. Take it as you want.

For those who are interested, I've written my experiencing Cambodia in two parts: the Cambodia Chronicle and the Angkor Account.

Both writings are in Indonesian.

So I'm back to reality after Saigon-Siem Reap trip. You know, this bittersweet aftertaste of holiday isn't something I will get used to ever.

I finished two Callie/Arizona-centered fics in three days, and boy did it feel good to just be able to sit and write again. I'd tip my hat off to whoever said that writing is all about discipline. That being said, this happened as real life work piled up on my desk. Being the acute deadliner I always am, I abandon it and write instead. Talk about discipline, really. :D

Anyway, back to the stories...

The first one, Behind the Gun, deals with Gray Clark's perception of the events at the end of Season 6. You know how I like diving into a madman's mind. I've done it before with Patrick Zala, and Mr Clark isn't going to be the last. :D

The second story is I Solemnly Pledge Myself, which is strongly influenced by the episode Invest in Love as well as Arizona's progress in Season 8. I want to see more Dr Robbins moments, damn it!

So I have finished my Grey's Anatomy marathon from Season 5 to 6. Mind you, I have given up watching GA on Season 3 thus not keeping an eye on it. Not even a bit.
