I took a 3-mile roundtrip walk to the library today.  Part of me wanted to check out some language books (I need to brush up on my French, and while I'm at it I want to learn Italian.), and the other part of me just wanted to feel some air conditioning and refill my water bottle.  But primarily I wanted to do something I had never done before - and  I succeeded without causing too much trouble.  Y'know how pedestrians are always such a pain to cars? Making drivers jerk the wheel and swerve and causing panic?  I myself curse the darn walkers/runners.  But today, I was one of them.  I think I'll do it again sometime, just to be a pain in the proverbial rear end.

That must be my goal today, to be a pain in the proverbial rear end, that is, because my mom has asked me three times today how many lamb chops I'm having for dinner, and each time I reply with, "None."  Hey, at least I'm predictable.  But honestly, does she really think I'm going to put an end to my chocolate-chip-cookies-and-fresh-cherries-only diet to eat dinner?  Pshh, I haven't had a real meal in 24 hours and that's how I like it.  My brother recently informed me that we have "brownie bars" in the freezer, so I might incorporate those into my diet.  We'll see.
