so, i manage to avoid playing animal crossing for 3 whole months, then i have two days off work poorly and what happens? i'm completely addicted all over again :) of course, having not played for so long has meant that it was easier to start afresh than try and rescue what was left of my old village... but give me a couple more days and it'll be wonderful again :) right, off to catch some more fish and bugs...

i just heard the next tenacious d single on radio1. not quite as silly as some of their previous, but still very silly. just gotta wait for the film now...
and speaking of films, does anyone want to come and see the devil wears prada with me on sunday? adam doesn't want to, and hes away sunday, so i figure its a perfect chance to go :) thinking either 5.30, 6.30 or 8

I'm not gonna do any of that linking to bands, or putting in mp3's (mostly 'cause i'm rubbish at that sort of thing!) So, in no particular order, here they are:
P.C.P: Manic Street Preachers. One of my all time favourite bands, and while this is one of the weaker tracks on The Holy Bible, its still pretty good. Its nice to listen to them back when they were still angry, rather than just bland
P.V.C: Kenickie. I promise I'm not gonna make all ten songs 3letter titles, but i had to put this in as well. one of the few bands from my mid90's kitch indie pop days that i still jump up and down to in an embarassing way, and this song in particular brings back memories of college, and getting ready to go clubbing with battle_kitten. its also good advice- when going out clubbing, its better to wear PVC than pretty dresses!
Packs of Three: Arab Strap. You can't beat an album opener that starts with the line "it was the biggest cock you'd ever seen. but you'd no idea where that cock had been". 'nuff said
Papa Don't Preach: Madonna. I just really like this song (and most of her 80's stuff)
Paranoid: Ultraviolence. The first song I ever heard by ultraviolence, at sheffield hallam's old rock night voltage, which was great for its willingness to play just about any request you could think of. A fantastically silly cover of the old Sabbath song, and really fun to dance to
Paranoid Android: Radiohead. A truly brilliant song, with one of the weirdest videos
Passenger: Deftones. From what i still think is their best album, this still sends shivers down my spine
Play Dead: Bjork. One of the first bjork songs i heard, and still one of my favourites, it has a wonderfully disturbing, creepy feel to it, and i absolutely love her voice
Please Sir: Pitchshifter. An old one, but still one of their greatest (especially on the dancefloor). A band that i'm hugely in debt to my ex for introducing me to many years ago
Psycho Killer: Rico. The song on this list that gets stuck in my head the most.

So, its my birthday on july 4th, which of course means there must be some form of clebratory drinking
So, here's the plan:
4th july- drinks in the nelson
8th july- picnic/drinks in western park, from about 4pm, followed by corp in the evening (if the weathers rubbish then it'll be drinks in the pub, followed by corp)
